Very strange Eastern-Western.
This film tries to have a little of everything and ends up a convoluted mess of styles and dramas. It attempts to be a western, cowboys, hats, six shooters, but it happens within palm trees and such. It has a love story, yet it is not very believable. It has lots of primary colors, yet its not a chinese movie and more like a cartoon. The acting is very stilted and self-conscious, but maybe that's the charm of it. The action is over the top, but not in a Korean or Chinese way, but in an Indian way, lots of blood vomit but that's all. At the end you're left with the feeling of a Mexican soap-opera done with overproduced settings and unbelievable acting. I did not like this at all because it tried to do too much and did very little other than look strange from one end to the other. I bought it because I head it was unusual, and I like Asian cinema, what they forgot to tell me is that it was unusual but not in a good way.
