The Tea Party Book was written by Lucille Recht Penner & illustrated by Jody Wheeler. I have had this book for about 12 years. My daughter wanted it so bad for Christmas when she was 7 or 8. She is now 19! The book starts out with a small introduction on where tea comes from & how to make tea. Also a page on Fancy Cakes & Little Sandwiches. From there it goes on to give you a menu, decoration ideas, & craft ideas for 9 themed tea parties. These are all geared towards children's parties, but you could use some of the recipes & ideas for adults as well. The 9 themes are 1) A Teddy Bear Tea Party 2) A Valentine Tea Party 3) Tea by The Sea 4) A Japanese Tea Party 5) A Royal Tea party 6) A Full Moon Tea Party 7) A Garden Tea Party 8) Tiny Tea & 9) A Rainy Day Tea Party. Little girls will probably like the Valentine's Day Party with everything being PINK, or the Royal Party, because they all want to be a princess, but I think the Full Moon Party is the most unique. You have your party in the evening rather than the daytime. You serve moon shaped scones, along with cheese stars & apple crescents to go with your Milky Way tea. You make Night Sky Placemats & Telescopes to look at the stars. Cute ideas! Everything is miniature sized for the Tiny Tea. Tea by The Sea would be great for summertime. I am sure any little girl would like this, & also the young at heart! The illustrations are very sweet. This is a hardcover book with 39 pages. Nice birthday ot Christmas gift. Enjoy & Have Fun!

This book is absolutely fantastic! it's just such a pleasure to read and so beautifully illustrated. It also look great in my country kitchen! people always pick it up and say what a cute book. It has some wonderful recipes too! I would highly recommend this book
