Movie Description
This darkly moody and visually stunning neo Noir, based on the novel by Alain Page, stars Coluche as Lambert, a lonely ex-cop who works the night shift at a local gas station while drinking away his past troubles. Lambert's world consists of mindless monotony until he meets Bensousson (Richard Anconina) an equally lonely teenager who pushes drugs and steals motorcyles for fun. The strangers become unlikley friends, sharing life's joys and sorrows while whiling away hours in the gritty gas station. Bensousson, a charming young rebel lives a cavalier lifestyle in the underground world of Parisian nightlife, rampant with corruption. In a grim series of events Coluche is forced to face his past and finally act when Bensousson is murdered by his drug suppliers. Only Coluche knows the truth about the murder and he takes the law into his own hands to avenge his friend's death. Agnes Soral costars as Lola, a beautiful punk rock drifter. TCHAO PANTIN is breathtakingly filmed in dark and gritty neon shadows that envelop this starkly realistic glimpse into the violent and mercurial netherworld of alienated Parisians, and features a wry and painfully honest script adapted by director Claude Berri and writer Alain Page.
