R5 or R7 425 cc: What A Quandry

I'm an ebayholic, a duffer (16 to 18 handicap), and have a LOT of clubs (24 drivers!). I like both of my R5 Neutral and R7 425cc drivers equally well. On the R7, I added 2 18-gram weight inserts (available on ebay) to replace the 2-gram weights, which almost makes the club a training club although I play with it as well. The added weight slows down my swing to make it smoother in my case. The added weights reportedly add 30 to 50 yards distance, and on my better hits I might get 20 to 30 yards more distance, in the 270-280 range. But frankly, I get the same length with the lighter R5, which I find is a very forgiving driver, and keeps me in the short grass.
I've also used a 360 and 540 in the past and enjoyed those, but Taylor Made keeps improving on their products and the R5 or R7 would make a welcome addition to your bag. I personally prefer the R7 425cc to the 460 for more flexibility in the weight inserts. You have 4 ports with the 425cc, 2 2-grams and 2 12-grams with the original equipment, and only 2 with the 460. Between rounds, depending on what problems I'm running into, I can change the setting for High, Low, Draw, Fade, More Draw or More Fade. I'm a "natural" fader, so I find the Draw setting works best for me. I still don't draw, but the setting gives me a straight ball or a hint of a fade.
