Actaully it is funny that I got this email to rate the experience. This purchase was the first one in two hundred that went wrong. I bought the club thinking that it was coming from Tx. It actually came from Shanghi China and it was a fake taylor made. It cost me $43.00 to send it back. I am out that money. I did received a paypal refund, which is only right. I hate the people that take advantage of this site for their BS. Shame on Ebay for having something in place, this day and age to prevent this. I was very angry adn will be very reluctant to purchase again. I have already cancelled my paypal site. Thank God there was another person that was available for me to talk with about the sitaution, who walked me through the process. Paypal did nothing for me. Sorry Ebay I am done with you ........ another unsatisfied customer.

Not ALL TaylorMade r7 425 Drivers R Created = in China!
Review created: 12/13/06

39 of 44 people found this review helpful.

I've have bought many clubs on eBay. Specifically TaylorMade r7 425 drivers both as head-only and as a factory built units. I am a professional club maker and my reputation relies on authentic products. I build individualized custom clubs for my customers often pulling apart and reweighting or reshafting factory built clubs. I always assume that the items I am buying are authentic on eBay. I did win the bid on one particular head- only TaylorMade r7 head-only from this seller, but another Club Maker and eBayer informed me by eBay e-mail that it was fake. A very good “looking” knockoff, but it has some playability flaws which a representative of TayorMade indicated to me, which made it worthless as a golfing tool. Or as a very expensive item to carry in your bag that would embarrass even the best golfer once hit. I was informed by eBay NOT to pay for the eBay transaction, due to the fact the seller was under investigation for selling counterfeit golf items. The seller has since disappeared off eBay after having sold many counterfeit items under one of his many eBay identities. He now has a new identity and I am sure he will be out in eBay land sell his counterfeit, knockoffs to unsuspecting builders of clubs. DO NOT buy from sellers that keep their Feedback Private. To be fair to TaylorMade makes one of the best products on the market. Just be sure it is authentic. Not all sellers sell authentic Taylor Made products

Have your clubs checked by a pro shop

I was scammed by a seller who said the item location was Toronto and the only thing that was in Toronto was the seller. When I checked the tracking number it was shipped from China through Vancouver.Seller said he would give me a refund but when I called he hung up.Now he won't answer e-mails I have filed a claim and I hope I have more luck than some of the other people. The seller is now selling under a different name which I reported I hope they do something to protect some other people.Take your clubs to a Pro shop to have them examined side by side with a R7 you may be surprised at the differences I was. Some of the counterfeit clubs they make now look pretty good but if they are fakes fron China they are worth about 10 dollars. If you pay for a Taylor Made club that is what you should receive.

  R7 425 Reax 65 Reg shaft
Review created: 01/20/07
by:
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

Bought this club on Ebay for 100.00 , 10.5 deg with reg reax shaft. The club is very accurate , I hit every fairway but 1 on the first time out. With the reax shaft I was ballooning the ball way to high and losing distance , so I changed the shaft to a grafalloy proto nt85 stiff , now it does'nt balloon and it is even more accurate than before , and longer. The moveable weights really work , I set the weights for maximum draw and almost hooked the ball off the range for the next few hits. I naturally hit the ball with a draw so I moved the weights to maximum fade , now I hit it straight or with just a slight fade or draw. I think you will like this driver , but if you have a high swing speed try to get a stiffer shaft with a higher kickpoint.

dont know, purchased the club but seller said ups lost it. how about that, thats as rare as winning the lottery, he also told another buyer his club was damaged by ups. ebay continues to allow this seller to do business with its members, what if the buyer would say send me the merchandise then Ill pay you? it appears to me like once they get the money there in no hurry to resolve any issues.we buy on faith, my faith in ebay and one of its sellers has ended,I do plan to fight my dispute legally, however its issues like this that need brought to the attention of all of us who buy from ebay.my issues will be made public and could certainly have a bearing on ebays policies,in conclusion, ebay needs to clean up its act if they desire to compete in todays markets.how can a company be so insincere? GOOD BYE .....

R7 425 is as good as it will get in a driver!
Review created: 01/30/07
by:
6 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I've played golf for years and this club is the truth! I'm 60 years old but usually out drive guys half my age. I previously played the r7 HT. I love my r7 HT. I'm left handed and my r7 HT has a regular shaft with a 10.5 loft. But I thought I'd try the r7 425, 10.5 loft. The prices on ebay are just too good to to pass up.

You see, I've built clubs and have made a driver from components for years. I remember when I started making clubs. It was back in the year when Yonex made the first ADX 100. It had the graphite head and a extra long graphite shaft. Very soon after that club hit the market, Callaway introduced the Big Bertha. Anyway, I know shafts and the properties of a graphite shaft. The r7 with the Re•Ax - M flex shaft puts the ball into the air and LONG. If your swing speed is around 110, then this shaft will send the ball 250 yards or more without a problem. I just used my r7 425 this past weekend for the first time and it was a cold 34* when we started. The very first drive out of the box went 250 yards. I cannot wait until spring comes and things warm up and dry out.

The M flex is not sloppy. It has a very tight torque of 3.4 and very stable. If you want more kick try this club with this shaft. Ego will get you no where in golf. Happy golfing!!

Another person scammed with a FAKE R7 Driver.
Review created: 12/16/06

5 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Yes, I got scammed. I purchased a R7 425cc model on EBAY and the moment I took it to the range I knew it was a phony. BEWARE. Mine had a serial # on the hozel - that does not make it authentic. Mine also had the shaft information on the up or top side with the R7 logo missing - obvious signs of a fake driver. Cclear plastic wrapping does not make it authentic either. You are better off paying more and buying from your local golf shop. Don't get taken by the low price - you are better off throwing your money in a fire place.

  Golf's Magic Wand!
Review created: 09/04/06
by:
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Simply put, this club is amazing! It is the closest thing to a magic wand that I've found in golf. I went from having to concentrate in order to not hit a push slice to being left of center.

For the first time ever I am able to stand over the ball with a driver in my hand and feel a sense of confidence.

The only drawback to this particular club is that I am not as long as I was with my Cobra 440 SZ but being in the fairway on a consistent basis is worth the loss of 20 yards.

A friend of mine has the old Quad; I am able to hit the club a little longer but am not as consistent.

Beats R7 Quad, but R7 460 & Super Quad are cuts above!
Review created: 07/15/06(updated 11/04/07)
by:
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

I hit my drive with my Titleist 983K, then I hit another with my partner's R580XD. My 580XD drive flew my 983K ball and stopped 25-30 yards beyond it. I immediately reserved an original R7.

I loved my R7 and often watched with delight as others compared their drivers and left shaking their heads and their drivers. Not wanting ever to be beaten by technology, I bought the new R7 425 when it came out. It was better than the original with a larger sweet spot and more forgiveness than the original.

If you adjust the screws, be prepared for the result. If you adjust it for lower trajectory, you're likely to lose yardage under normal conditions. (Remember, the ground and the grass offer more resistance than the air.) Although, you might benefit from such an adjustment under windy conditions. If you adjust it to draw or fade the ball, you tend to get that result. For real players, this is not really an advantage and having to leave it in whatever adjustment you make until you finish the round could be a real disadvantage. Otherwise, I am definitely a believer in this technology.

My only problem has been the feedback. Miss hits sound very much like center hits, only they are shorter and slightly off line. That said, I highly recommend it, although you will probably get even more forgiveness with the increased sweet spot of the R7 Quad, or R7 460. I opted for the 460 Burner because I was not adjusting the neutral setting and I like the forgiveness and higher MOI of the 460 Burner.

You could save a few bucks and go with one of the R5 460s. Regardless of which TaylorMade Driver you choose, there is no doubt in dafoxyman's mind that TaylorMade has the best technology and range of selections. When it comes to drivers, TaylorMade is constantly rewriting the book. I recommend TaylorMade to all of my friends. Better yet, I let them hit my TaylorMade and they make up their own minds! That's TDD--TaylorMade Driver Dominance!!!

Dafoxyman

Beaten by skill, but NEVER by technology!

  TaylorMade R7 425 Driver
Review created: 04/05/07

4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

This is the most adaptable driver on the market. The four weight ports allow numerous configurations which can be tailored to each individual golfer. The quality of the clubhead, the graphite shaft and grip alert you to the fact that you are buying a premium driver. There are many shaft options available and this helps suit each person specifically. In my estimation, this is the best golf club driver on the market. I love the technology behind the club. Taylormade is a name you can trust for outstanding products.

  Knock off
Review created: 02/04/07

4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Immediately after using buy it now for this driver, EBAY notified me of the TKO. I was advised to wait for the driver to show up and determine what was being sent to me before filing a claim. The driver arrived as so many of you have already described clearly a knockoff not what I had purchased. Fortunately I use PAYPAL for my purchases, filed my claim, and in about a week or less they had resolved the manner and my credit card was credited back. I'm a little concerned about how to get protection from the next wiseguy who wants to rip us off. Ebay will have to figure it out or no one will use the service.

FRAUD
I also bought this driver with the buy it now option. I received the same Chinese name on the Paypal address. I also received a notice from Pay Pal saying that the product had been removed from ebay due to fraudulent activity.

I Have not filed a claim with paypal because I was unsure how to do this and this was my first time on Ebay beleive it or not. Ebay should know by shipping address I nevered ordered before and will not again, sorry first impressions are lasting ones. I received the club which was a present for my father and how embarrassing for him to discover at the course no less he was laughed at and it was a fake. I lost plenty of money, and will never use Ebay Again, I will driveto the mall and for all those special deals.... I just do not need the hassle. I have never been so upset for my father and for being taken advantage of.

  Where do I begin-------Horrible Experience
Review created: 11/28/06
by:
4 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Well well well let's see. I can't believe I was asked to review this experience. I searched for hours for this driver. Paid for it right away. The next day I get an email from ebay saying the transaction was void and to contact paypal right away. The only reason I found this out was because I sent the seller a question about when I would receive the driver due to an upcoming golf tourney for my fiance. After many emails ebay didnt want anything to do with it and I had to go through paypal, which was a hassle. Meanwhile, I needed a new driver for my fiance and paid 200 for another one and it was legit. 2 weeks later I received a driver from CHINA! A golf store told us it was a fake and I'm glad they did because I almost resold it.

Paypal told me they would not help me and that I filed the wrong kind of claim. So I filed a new claim. They said I was responsible for shipping charges which I did not want to pay around 50.00. Now, 45 days has passed and I can't do a damn thing about it. I am furious with paypal and ebay. I have never had any problems until now. I have researched and found many scam artists on ebay for the expensive items. They do it by finding a member that hasn't used their account in several years. I should have known better. Now, it is Christmas time and I am out 180.00 for this stupid driver that I can't resale b/c it's only worth 40 dollars tops.

  Misleading
Review created: 11/08/06(updated 11/12/06)
by:

This listing, as eBay has confirmed, appears to be a carefully planned SCAM.
The seller appropriated a legitimate eBay seller's i.d., then used it to sell what turned out to be a counterfeit Taylor Made r7 425 Driver. This spurious copy was evidently made and the scheme devised in the Orient (as revealed by the PayPal money recipient). How you cope with international swindling is obviously a significant problem. In this case, the perpetrator used genuine Taylor Made advertising and photographs in the listing. The product, when received, was a copy, as verified by my local golf professional. This spurious copy is still on hand, as received. A complaint has been filed with the internet protection agency. Your security dept. needs to stay on top of such schemes for future customer protection. A random daily check of listings for popular items such as golf clubs, electronic equipment, etc. by well informed
security personnel may be appropriate. Thank you, quillon

This is one of the best selling drivers on the market, but I for one didn't get out of it what I expected. This driver did sound solid on all of the hits, but that is about it. It isn't real forgiving at all. Just the sound makes it act like it is. The sound was same but not distance and accuracy. And there isn't much of a difference to this driver then the other R7's other than the fact that they put a yellow line on it, that is only what I think though. Over all, this driver isn't what I had hoped for.

I would suggest this club to anyone. I bought mine with a proforce v2 shaft. That shaft with this head is the best combo I have ever used. I was left, right, left, right with my drives. Now I'm straight, straight, little left, straight. Now I have this beautiful little draw with my drives and they are constantly 260-275 yards. This is an amazing driver with the proforce v2 shaft.

  The golf driver that works
Review created: 06/09/07
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This has to be the best driver I've ever used. It was delivered late Friday and I had an early Saturday tee time. My first drive was exactly where I wanted it but could never put it before. Not only was it longer, it was in the middle of the fairway. My oldest son tried it on the second tee and couldn't believe how long and straight it was. Later in the round my Grandson tried it because he saw how good it was working and by the 12th hole everyone in our foursome were sharing this driver. It got quite a workout and there were four new believers that day. Maybe they should sell them in four packs.

I'm sure this is an excellent driver for the right golfer. I'm just not that golfer. I have back problems and don't have a big swing. I do like the way this club looks and feels, but the swing weight is too heavy for me, and I lose yardage.

If you have an average to good (or better) swing, then try this driver. If your game is like mine, not a power game, then you don't need this club. I do have friends that own this driver and love it.

The problem is.........this driver is not made for everyone.

I bought this driver with the buy it now. As with all my purchases I paid immediately. I was a bit concerned when I saw the Chineese name on the Paypal address and then really concerned when ebay sent me a notice saying that the product had been removed from ebay due to fraudulent activity. I filed a claim with paypal wondering if I would ever see the club. Upon return from an out of town trip the club did arrive. I immediateley canceled my claim with paypal. Later upon further review of the club I discovered it was a fake. I took it to a local golf shop and the $170 club I bought was worth $1.00. Because ebay recinded my bid and took the item off the website and because I cancelled my claim and Paypal would not let me reopen it I lost $169.00. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
