TaylorMade RAC MB TP Iron set Golf Club

My review title pretty much sums up how I feel about these irons... I am a 3.2 handicap and have had the following sets in my bag over the past decade or so: TaylorMade Burner Tours, Ben Hogan Apex blades, Titleist 990's, Mizuno MP 33's, TaylorMade RAC MB's(2002), and Ping i3 blades. All of these iron sets were great; all of them had a lot of strengths and very few weaknesses. That being said, the TaylorMade TP MB's are easily the most flawless blade irons I have ever owned; super-acute feedback, fantastic workability, absolutely gorgeous, and if you looked up "butter" in the dictionary you might just see a picture of the TaylorMade MB TP's. I was initially leery of the non-traditional looks of the TP's, as I have always been a traditionalist when it comes to how a well made forged blade should look, and I thought the bold design of the TP's might have been gimmicky. I ran into a buddy of mine at the range who had just bought a set and swore by them, so I tried them out, and I didn't want to put them down...I had my own custom fit set within a week… yes they were expensive, but they have been worth every penny.
I would not recommend these clubs to an upper-mid to high handicap golfer, they are not as forgiving as a cavity back set might be, but if you are a serious mid to low handicap player, you have got to try these things out... and make sure you get the shaft and lie angle fit correctly to get the full benefit of these beauties.

I loved the "workability" about these clubs and feel that they were what the doctor ordered..... The Taylormade blade is great for above avg. players who are looking to get more control out of the rough and more feel behind the ball... I would strongly recommend these clubs for those not seeking distance, but more confidence standing over the ball for every shot!

The RAC TP Irons look and feel great, they are well balanced and with the rifle flighted shafts are very predictable. They do require a high swing speed to realize their full distance potential, however if you are capable of a 100mph+ swing speed with your driver, they are sweeeeeet! The smaller head design along with the minimal offset and a higher center of gravity will give you alot of flexibility in shot manipulation, working the ball in both directions or to produce high or low shots is much easier. You do have to have very solid center face contact to use these clubs, they are not forgiving at all. If you are not a very good ball striker they are probably not right for you, as any off center hits will result in drastic reduction in distance and direction control. Overall these are one of the best looking, best feeling, fun to hit irons I have ever tried and if you have the swing speed "100mph+" and skill level to hit the center of the face 90+ percent of the time you will love them as much as I do.

just upgraded to the TP MB irons W/flighted rifle shafts from the 05 TP Rac Forged irons, i have it them several times before at ranges and demo days, but after playing with them out on the course, i love them even more. Remember people these are a true players iron and only for low handincappers.

The best clubs I have ever hit, by far. Never thought a club would swing so well for me. Very accurate and hard to mishit. Not a difficult club to swing at all.

Best irons I have ever played with. I am a 6.3 handicap and they feel like pure butter when you strike the ball. Also the smoke color is a great looking club. Spend the extra money to buy these irons as you will not regret it.

The Taylormade TP MB golf clubs are excellent.

If you are serious about the game, truly interested in having fun, and want to improve your game, you have to work at it. The TM RAC MB are among the best tools you can work with.

While these may not be the most forgiving clubs they definitely help you improve your game. They provide consistent feedback, deliver pure joy when well struck, and it doesn't hurt that they look so darn good in the bag!

I've tried the so called 'game improvement' clubs - at best they offer a momentary 'score improvement'. The casual player - once a month or so might be better off with these more forgiving clubs.
