First Impression
Looks amazing very traditional looking and you do not notice the slight triangular shape at all. Sets up well at address in any face angle and position. The shaft looks great not to busy looking and the shaft sets up well with the shaft logo in any position. Note if you play a reminder rib in your grip then you are screwed with this club.
Feel Head
Very solid on centre hits, feels a lot like the R7 425 TP on steroids. On off centre hits you know were you hit it immediate feedback which is very helpful. No hitting it off the heel and wondering how that went so far. You need to put a good swing on this club, to get the distance.
Feel Shaft.
Awesome shaft, coming from playing the Xcon 6 in my current gamer this shaft kills it. Same kick as an Xcon but SO TIP STABLE just amazing had a few swings on Track Man that were swing speed mid 120’s and never once did it feel like I lost control I could always feel the head throughout the swing.
Performance from the club was outstanding swing has been on 110% the past couple days, and was able to shape this club with precision and accuracy. Only shot I had a little trouble with was the low draw, I had trouble keeping the launch angle in that 7-9 degree range for windy days. It was easier to play a low hold off fade actually in the N Setting.
I usually play a high draw, with this club set on TP Setting the high fade was amazing such a nice ball flight coming out around 12-14 degree’s I would say with very little spin.
Adjustment is very easy never played around with the weights but tried the face angles even on the L setting I was not hitting nasty hooks or anything they just came out as high pulls very high maybe launching 15-16 degrees of launch angle with a pull spin.
I decide to keep the club on NR which is Neutral one degree flat
Distance and accuracy.
Got two play two days in a row and playing tomorrow for a third day its been about 22 degree or 71 Fahrenheit. On centre strikes the ball goes like stink, high launch very little spin tons of roll on the draw, Fade still gets 5 yards of roll but has more spin.
On off centre hits major loss in distance I would say 25-40 yards shorter had three miss hits in two days that only went about 250-260 but they still go dead straight or curve back to the fairway. The miss hit on a cut shot is a great miss hit with this club dead straight just launches higher.
All in all an amazing club and a tremendous shaft for the hitter of the golf ball so much feedback in the shaft and SO Stable, really love the new HD I would say if you are a higher handicap or don’t hit the driver centre contact 7/10 times or more around then get the R9 460.
