I like "Taylor" for the same reason Ted Danson's stated favorite movie is "Charade"--the two lead characters in both are so likeable the two films can be watched several times.
Scarlett Chorvat, who plays Taylor, I put in the same catagorie as my favorite French actress Valerie Allain ("French In Action," "Club de Rencontre")--both actresses should have resumees four times the length of their actual ones. I don't understand why Scarlett is not a big star.
Scarlett has a refreshing unpretentiousness to her. This charm is happily notably present in her portrayal of Taylor.
Regarding cinematography, if you're like me and Alfred Hitchcock, and have a thing for wide-shouldered, long-limbed women, you'll love this film also. Like Hitchcock did for Grace Kelly in the film "Rear Window," the director Mark Roemmich does for Scarlett in "Taylor." Her figure has the same great lines that Grace's figure had, strong and feminine, and Roemmich shows them off well in "Taylor."
As for Jack Scalia's performance, his resume is, in fact, as full as it should be. How does he work so often? Does he sleep at all? He continues to give former models a good name. Plus, we blue-eyed Italians need to stick together (Smile).
My one bone to pick with this film is one line Roemmich made Joan Severance's character say. Talking to the exceptionally beautiful Scarlett Chorvat's Taylor; Joan, playing Leigh, had to say, "I'm not in your league." (Pause. Take a deep breath. Don't get upset.) Joan was one of the top models on the planet during the '80's before she chose to pursue acting full time. I guess the director wrote the script before he thought he would be able to get Joan Severance to do his film. (smile) For all Joan Severance fans' information, Joan is still scramble-your-brains gorgeous.
"Taylor" is a gem.
