THE KING of Taste of Home cookbooks! 2006
Review created: 11/09/06

The Taste of Home Cookbook is definately the king of all their cookbooks. It has a ton of great recipes in it. It is divided into different categories with appetizers & beverages, soups & sandwiches, beef & veal, pork, lamb, poultry, seafood, grilling, eggs & cheese, beans & grains, pasta & pasta sauce, vegetables, fruit, salads & salad dressings, quick breads, yeast breads, pies & tarts, cakes, desserts, cookies & bars, candies, and light & tasty recipes.
Awesome kitchen tips are also included. If you or someone you love is a taste of home recipe collector, this book is for you. This would also make a great gift for a newlywed or someone just learning to cook all types of food. The front cover includes all sorts of food equivalents, and the back cover has ingredient substitutions. The front section of the book talks about kitchen basics, and it defines many of the words used in recipes...

Kudos to Taste of Home for creating this cookbook!

This is an excellent cookbook for those who are learning to cook, have difficulty cooking, or mess up just about everything they cook (like me). I have always enjoyed the magazine and it is GREAT to have this collection of a variety of recipes.

  A-One purchase

I love this cookbook because I love Taste of Home magazine. It was a phenomenal value.I only paid $15.00 and the value was $38.00. It was brand new and it would have cost $29.95 + $7.95 shipping to buy it from Taste of Home. It came with a free year of Taste of Home magazine(which Taste of Home also includes) and that retails for $18.00. The seller offered free shipping and handling which is major for me if I am purchasing online. That probably is why I decided on the purchase. The seller was awesome, he shipped it right out and it was well packed for shipping. It arrived in perfect condition. All in all, I was extremely pleased with the purchase and the value.

This is one of my favorite cookbooks!
Review created: 03/04/09

This is one of my favorite cookbooks. It is a well made book with pages that stay open and easy turn due to extra rings in the binder in comparison to another well known cookbook with the same format. The photos are beautiful and directions are clearly understood. Would highly recommend especially for first time homemakers as well as experienced cooks who will turn to this book for tips and recipes.

  Taste of Home Cookbook (2006)
Review created: 09/02/08

I originally wanted the Taste of Home Cookbook because I have always enjoyed the Taste of Home magazines. I thought the cookbook would be great because it would have all of my favorite recipes from the magazine. The really nice part is the recipes are categorized and the cookbook is a binder style that lays flat! Another really nice thing about this cookbook is the recipes used items most cooks already have in their pantry. You get gourmet results without the gourmet ingredients.

I like the binder. You can flip the pages at will, without having to break the back of the book. I like the dividers telling of the recipe sections. A place to put your own recipes. The recipes look easy to make. Too bad someone couldn't make the recipes for you!
The reason I decided to purchase this item, because I like the magazine and a collection of recipes would be ideal for anytime and holiday; it's down to earth with items you usually have on hand.

  Great cookbook!
Review created: 07/03/07

Hey, I've been married for 25 years and have worn out 3 ranges because I do much more than heat water for mac-and-cheese. I have a son who won best of 4-H baking at the local fair when he was 10 and a daughter who trades chocolate cakes baked from scratch for appliance repairs, so you think I'd know all you'd need to know about feeding a family. I love the Taste of Home magazines, and have subscribed to different versions of them from time to time. But I opened this cookbook, and have learned something new about every 4th page.

Buy this cookbook as a wedding or housewarming present, or for that child who finally flies the nest, even if you get it slightly used from half.com. Having a good cook in the family means people will actually come home for dinner, sit around a table, speak to each other, bring their friends, and interact with humans rather than devices. A good cook is one of the universe's best defenses against entropy. Join the battle, buy a couple of copies, and give all but one away.

This is the best cookbook I own & I have a lot of them.
Review created: 05/04/07

Lots of great sections. Lots of how to's with photos. Great recipes so far as I have tried. Lots of tips like cook to what temp, how to store fresh and cooked, just as close to the perfect cookbook as I have found. The binder is great as the book lays flat! You name it, it's go it. I have bought several as I give them as gifts and everyone agrees with me so far.

I like the taste of home magazine. It was an okay book, not homey enough, kind of boring. Cover was boring, needed more life.

Beware of the listings gallery photo

Well, the book pictured in the listing was not the book I received and the seller was no longer a registered user by the time I received the book. The book did turn out to be a good cookbook but it's not the one I wanted. I wanted to buy it because it normally sells for $30 and I thought I was getting a great deal for only $3, but like I said. I didn't receive the book I thought I was getting.
