Cat Storm (Dominique Swain) is a teenager attending Manhattan's most exclusive prep school in the 1980s.       Is Swain a "Tart"? Or is the movie just bitter-sweet? Dunno.

    Pros:
Occasionally interesting class critique; some decent performances; the always appealing Dominque Swain

    Cons:
Much darker than the promotion would have you believe, but also more leaden

For better or for worse, Dominique Swain has taken the path less traveled in her career. She made a strong impression in her first on-screen appearance as John Travolta's nymphet daughter in Face/Off, then she turned in a genuinely excellent performance in the oft-delayed Adrian Lyne Lolita (which was, of course, filmed well before Face/Off). From there, she could have taken her career in several possible directions. She could have moved into teen comedies and slasher films in an effort to gain commercial viability. She could have decided to concentrated on small roles in big films in an...

    Pros:
    Swain, Sex, Drugs

    Cons:
Director, Screenwriting, Acting, Characters, Storyline, Scene, Sex, Drugs, Study Hall

TART, a Lion Gates Home Entertainment, The tagline: "Sex, Drugs and Study Hall." It states the movie is a dark sort of - comedy (minus only the humor), the kind of life that is expensive, sex, drugs and cloths. It begins with Swain (as the strangely named Cat Storm) moving with the cab to the scene of an accident wondering by heavily narrative voice-over just to smooth out the spirit and mood. As she gazes pass the police at the accident scene, So F*cked up, the narration is slow and moving, (Dominique Swain) is your everyday teenage girl. She lives on Park Avenue. She is a black sheep goes...

Have you seen the well-to-do up and down Park Avenue?

    Pros:
Eventually it ends; also proves that Mischa Barton was awful even before The OC

    Cons:
pretentious, idiotic, horrible dialogue, evil viewpoints, woefully inconsistent characters, mind-bogglingly dumb final scene

For some reason, I watched this on cable a few weeks ago, and wanted to spare others the agony of seeing it. Cat Storm (Dominique Swain) is your everyday teenage girl. She lives on Park Avenue. She goes to a fancy private school. She goes to exotic places. She doesn't do her homework. One day, Cat and her in-yer-face friend Delilah (Bijou Phillips) decide to bring some drugs to their swanky Upper East Side equivalent of the Eastland School For Girls. Well, it was mostly Delilah's idea. So she gets expelled, has to go to another school (one that's mocked because it's "for Jews") leaving poor...
