Was looking for Rom music to learn different styles. This is 3 generations of musicians in the same family, from Romania. Very cultural and rich sound. Probably not to everyone's taste (especially those who've only been exposed to Western music (as opposed to Eastern music)but I really like this CD. This will get a lot of play at our house. Mostly vocals (male) with a few intrumentals. The accompanying booklet has translations of the songs, but not the actual lyrics in the original language.
If you like World or Rom music this is must have CD (in my opinion) Not as melodic as Russian or Spanish Rom music (which Westerner's are more used to hearing), but really soulful with an almost haunting quality. I'd like to get more of their music.

) The songs in this collection are true gems. Ranging from slow folk ballads to Turkish and Indian influenced instrumentals, to poetic and witty numbers with furious fiddles and masterful accordeons & cymbals, there is enough on this album to give the uninitiated a tasty bite of Romanian Gypsy music as well as to give the conaisseur a reason to smile internally.
