Not so hot.

Well I got this lens to shoot surf photography but the chromatic aberration (purple fringing) is bad at 400mm. At 350mm its a little better but even at f/11-14 it is also still soft. Some people may not mind the color fringing but I can't sell photos like that. Haven't tried it with bird shots but I assume that as soft as it is this lens probably wont be very good either.

I bought tamron 200-400mm f/5,6. Excellent lens on nikon d70 but there's a few chromatic abberation at my other camera, canon 40d. This lens is the longest focal lenght that i ever used. I love it so much, specially for nature photograhy.

) Its Nice Lens overall, price is very good, performance is good but requires a Tripod because it does not have Image Stablization or Optical Stablization function, Picture are very sharp, result was very good, this Lens is Sunny Day Lens, Good for Out Door Shooting, For Indoor Shooting you need good Light to Take good Picture plus Exposure Level should be at Least +1.

First Thoughts on LensI have only had the lens for a couple of days but it is well built, easy to use and works well. I am using on a Nikon D70 digital body so it is the equivalent of a 300-600mm lens on a 35mm camera. It is well weighted for use with a monopod. First photos are well defined and I look forward to using it this summer
