Great Story, and a must for any Wii/GC owner

I bought this because I lost the first one I had, and since ToS2 came out I just needed to replay this game. The game has a great story, is one of those rare RPG's that actually were good for the Game Cube. The music and the artwork was pretty impressive for the time it came out; plus the battle system is pretty unique, you can move block and switch target like in any Action Adventure game, but it doesn't mess with the RPG classic elements of every battle. And lets not forget that is one of the best "tales" series game with a long story-line. You can even play with your friends. A neat thing this game has is that you can control any character you like, you are not bound to only the main character since every character will have a different reaction when talking to the NPCs in the game. Once you finish it, you will want to play it again and again and again.

Its an excellent game, period.

  Its Definately Good Stuff

in my opinion its the best
the story line is tragic, funny, and exciting all in one
and the fighting is the first of its kind ive ever experinced
kind of like how legend of the dragoon is fun to play
but its even more fun and less boring
characters are classic
and heck ive already bought the game for the second time
who play rpg's twice let alone buys them twice
thats how good it is
just like a good book and its movie remake
if youve seen the anime mini series
the game is sooooo much better
PLUS the girls arent annoying and useless
as the usually tend to be in this genre
sheena is one of favorite characters to be
that gives this game a 100000000 points in my view
being a girl, and always having to see the girls die all sytupid like
is sooo frustrating
when im the controlling the boys who owning thoroughly
PLUS its gotta a good ending
i usually hate the endings of rpg's
so yeah
its definately good stuff

One of The Best and Original

Why I bought this game. I love long games with sword fighting and adventure, love, and everything like that. Plus I like anime. This game is for those who want to have a long hard game, if you do not know what you are doing with it. This game is one of the best games I have ever bought. I love playing zelda the ocarina of time. And alot of the play on this is like that, you need this to go here, and there or, that item to get this level opened. I love the story so far, and it is a real twist. I have played the game for 27 hours and I am still on disc one. So If you like sword fighting magic and running all over the place to get to the next level and the story, also the love story in it, this game is for you. The graphics are not like resident evil 4 or halo or anything like that, but thats not what counts it is if you like the game, I love it and yet I liked resident evil 4. But I liked this game a ton more. I would give this game a 10 out of ten but there is only 5 haha! But I hope this helped anyone looking for the game. Good luck! Oh yeah I forgot to say, the only thing I don't like much about this game, is there is no blood. I like games like resident evil 4 and stuff for blood, but I still love it the same and tons more!

  Tales of Symphonia Review

I chose 5/5 Excellent because of the wonderful artwork and intense storyline. You could find me crying near the ending, and laughing and some of the "skits" between the "levels." It was a completely new experience to play this game with the "different" attack style. The music was.. ordinary, but the graphics outstanding! It was such a joy to be able to play, which I do regulary. Once you start you really can't stop. Addicting! The gameplay can range from 40-100 hours of pure fun, and funny.Forty hours being a "pro" gamer and skipping through most of the extras,100,doing everypossible detail. This game, as I say, was a silent hit. There is so much to do, and possibly right at the age levels between 13-35. But of course, really anyone over 8 could do the fighting scenes. It was easy, yet challenging, quite fun! A++ Game in my standards.

Game is About:

Lloyd Irving,a supposed orphan, who was found at the edge of a cliff next to his dead mother. A lonely dwarf came and picked the childup. Some 14years later, Lloyd was in the Iselia schoolhousebuilding. Here youare introduced to the many charecters, starting out with three. Eventually you travel two worlds and meet over 8 people joining you. Throughout the game you make many-a-choices which effect the entire gameplay.

I hope if you love gaming as much as I do, make the right choice and choose this.

The Best RPG Game --- EVER!!!!

Fast, furious, long & involved, Tales of Symphonia is the reason I bought a gamecube. Check the game sites, it's so complex and yet, so fun. You have up to eight characters to play with up to four characters fighting at any time. ToS is almost like playing D&D on screen with a Japanese Anime as the medium. It has animated scenes, an incredibly complex, weaving storyline. It takes at least 80 game hours and if you are going to save, it takes 3 blocks on the memory cube. It's also available for multiple replay. And now you can play the game on Wii; and the next version of the game for Wii is about to come out. Enjoy!!!

Tales of Symphonia- A teen's review

Bear in mind that I have not yet beaten this game (It's extremely long, I'm about 30 hours into it and still only on the 1st disc). I'll try and make my review as brief as possible:

Gameplay (4/5): A fun game overall, although there is a certain degree of repition; repeated usage of pushing blocks in puzzles, etc. This game is very involved, especially where the battle system is concerned- there are many different aspects to the battle system, I'm 30 hours in and haven't even begun to uncover all of the possibilites (It's extremely complex, simply reading a manual will do it no justice) However, the bear essentials to the battle system are simple enough, but you can make it as complex and strategic as you see fit.

Story (5/5): A pretty deep, character-driven storyline. Again, I'm only on the first disc, so I haven't even begun to unravel the story, though what I've seen is quite good.

Sound (4/5): A good array of music, although this also tends to get repetitive (using the same song for different dungeon-areas, sometimes with a bit of variation. The voice-overs (when they occur, sometimes there is only a text-box to read) match the characters surprisingly well. All-in-all the music and sound-effects are well-executed. I'm not much into swearing, as they often do in this game, so if you know there will be people nearby who object to "harsh" language, you may at least want to turn the sound down (it is rated T for Teen afterall)

Graphics (5/5): While graphics aren't the most important thing in a game, Tales of Symphonia has an anime (Japanese cartoon) style that suits it well. The overall look will appeal to anime and non-anime fans (such as myself).

Overall this is a great, original Role Playing Game that should at least be given a chance if you enjoy the RPG genre.

I originally bought the game because I had rented it a few times before, it's a wonderful game and has replay value to no end, though I'm a bit embarressed to admit it I've played the game for over 80 hours and never gotten bored of it, there's always something new to do, some spell or technique to aquire or some big bad villain to take down, all and all it's a wonderful game, the music's original and the fighting style's the most unique I've seen in a long time. I don't often buy games but I'm deffinatly glad I bought this one, I'd still advise renting before you buy for this and any game but once you start playing you'll find it hard to stop with the ever shifting plot and characters.

If you're a fan of classic RPG's, you'll love this game. The epic storyline and depth more than makes up for the limited sidequests and puzzles. Highly recommended.

  GameCube's best game, hands down.

This is an absolutly outstanding title for the Nintendo GameCube. If you're a fan of the previous titles in the Tales series, you will love this one. The story is amazing and the 3-D linear battle addition makes the gameplay unbelievable. If you're like me, and have never played any of the previous games in the series, you won't be disappointed. Have you ever played one of those games where you simply got addicted to playing it? You know...the kind where you're up way to late because you passed out in the middle of a movie sequence, or were late for work from some early morning play? This is that game. Just when it seems like it couldn't get any better, (or longer for that matter,) this game throws a huge surprise extending the story for hours upon hours of great game play and creative storylines. If there is one game to have for the Nintendo Game Cube, this is that game. I at times neglected my day to day responsibilities just to find time to get to the next save point. I've seen this game used all over eBay for around $20 or so. Even if you plan on getting the new Nintend Wii (Revolution), you may still want to consider picking up this title. The story line is at times, difficult to follow, so this game is probably more directed toward an older audience, (teens/young adults.) One of the things I like best about this game is that it's not particularly hard, it's just very long. And although it's seemingly endless at times, there is not a moment where it isn't entertaining. Fans of anime will probably enjoy this game too as it parallels the drawings and basic storylines/ideas that one might see in typical Japanese animation.

Great game, the plot was amazing, and kept me playing for a while. Highly recommended for an RPG. I don't have much experience in them, but the gameplay was very easy to learn and the battle system was, in my opinion, very effective.

My son likes this game because it's an original and is exciting from start to finish. There is a little bit of bad language that is not necessary. I purchased this game because it's interesting and imaginative.

I bought this game because my copy has somehow gone missing, and I'm currently bidding on another one for a friend for christmas, this is a great game with a great story. I've always been a fan of the "tales of" series, and this is the game that first got me into them. I can say, without a doubt, this game is one of the top 10 games of all time, at least when it comes to my list of games.

  I love this game
Review created: 08/03/09

There is nothing that I don't like about this game. The characters are brought to life with vivid color and interaction. There more to do and see with plenty of minigames that are involved in the story line. This is a great game for preteens to adult. I give this game 10 strawberries, which my favorit fruit. :}

One of the best GC RPG's!
Review created: 07/14/09
by:

I bought this because my bf had it a long time ago but he sold it. Since the new game ToS2 came out I needed to play through this game. So far I believe it has an awesome story, out of some RPG's I've played, it's one of the rare RPG's that looks so pretty for the GC. The music and artwork is very impressive! ^_^ It's hard for me to explain the battle system, but there's nothing I dislike about the battle system, even my friends agree. And I love the fact you can play with your friends!! That's something I always liked in a game. So far it seems like you can control any characters which is always awesome. I love that in games like these. I believe this is something I will play again and again (Once I beat it) and couldn't part with it. I hope this review helped!
