Tales from the Neverending Story - The Beginning (DVD, 2002)

I am glad they decided to elaborate further on The Neverending Story. After purchasing the first trilogy recently, I was quite disappointed with some of the special effects and half-hearted attempts. Tales of the Neverending Story is quite different. It explains what happened in the first movie a lot better than the actual first movie does, and it has much better special effects and a better performance by most characters. If you have read the novel, you might not like this movie because it doesn't stay true to it; if you're like me and want a better rendition of the first movie, this is the one you need to purchase.
