This is not ground breaking or wildly exciting, but almost a soap opera where most of the characters are gay. I had read the author's six book series before viewing the mini-series on VHS. I did enjoy seeing the characters come to life on the screen and thought the actors did a nice job, but don't expect to be on the edge of your seat the whole time. It is an enjoyable slice of San Francisco life in the wild 70's before AIDS. It is worth seeing and I still have my set of tapes for a rainy day when there's nothing else to watch.

Title Fits the StoryGreat Series Originally started on PBS and followed up with Two Sequals done on HBO both sequals were amazingly exciting and interesting and kept you anxious to see the next in the story. Great Series.
