"The Allergist's Wife" is woman impressionist's, Charles Busch's, real family life memory made into a hit Broadway script. Busch's two sisters are combined into one and the rest of the story is a comedy about the well-enough to do Jewish family living in New York in the latter half of 20th century. Linda Lavin stars as Busch's hystertical sister-combo in the play.
Busch's play collection includes his first: "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom." Today it is well known as one of the longest running waaaaay off-Broadway hits. Busch is the winner of the Outer Critics' John Gassner Award for playwriting. Very Greenwich village wit and intellect combined with considerable gender-bending humor. Tremendous works of original art by a renowned genius.
