Besides the beautiful sultry voice, this album has great strings, brass, acustical guitar, and percusion. A variety of old standards with a new sound.

) The music sellection and arrangements were great. The songs are some of the best in classic jazz. Jane Monheit's singing takes me back to another time when music was soothing and the lyrics could be heard. If you ever enjoyed the songs of Ella Fitzgerald, this CD is for you.

) Here is an album with a variety of jazz styles with a voice can support all of them with a soft velvet tone. This album collection ranges from classic Big Band vocalist sound ("I won't Dance" duet) to lounge "piano man" intimacy.
The arrangements and mixing get the most out of the instrumentation without stepping in the clean rich qualities of the vocals and are true to compositions.
Well performed; well produced; good variety; smooth listening. Grab an easy chair, take a scotch, sit back and enjoy.

) I love her in the song with Buble, the others are OK....... If you like the older style of music this would be a great CD for you.

If you're a novice to jazz, Jane will draw you in and hook you. I don't have a flair for words like the other reviewers, but I can say that I agree completely and if you get this CD you will not regret it. You'll quickly become a fan and find youself looking for more.
