Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs by Alan Katz (2001, Illustrated, Reinforced Hardcover)

This book, with its silly artwork, is a great kid-pleaser. In it, several (14) songs are parodied with the new words and illustrations. Some examples of songs parodies include "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"("Go, Go, Go To Bed") and "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" ("The Yogurt Flies Straight From My Brother"). Kids of all ages (including middle school) find the songs and the illustrations absolutely hysterical--and they really are. It's enjoyable to read a book as a parent that is actually funny to ME, too!

My grandchildren introduced me to this book. I think it's great! I bought it as a gift to a family member who became a grandparent late in life. The mutual adoration between grandpa and the kids is wonderful and they have a ball together. I thought this would be one more fun thing for them to enjoy together. And he reports that it has been great fun.

"Stinky, stinky diaper change" is really super for a big sister or brother. The new sibling has a funny side from the first day.

Take this on a trip and you'll spend hours singing and laughing. You'll find the question is, "are we there already?!"

Love the book! Going to get the "sequel."

It's fun to sing songs with the kids but not all of the words match the tune. There is only one song in the book that we are not familiar with. The illustrations are cute too.

We LOVE this book!! We have it in my kindergarten class & I loved it as much as the kids did!!! Fun rhymes that are read/sang to popular children's songs.
