This book is Funny!!! I use it as an introduction for an art lesson on penguins with kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Beside being so funy that my students regulary laugh so hard that I have to stop reading for a few moments, it also has an important moral to teach about acepting people for who they are and celebrating their differences. In the book Tacky's quirkyness is so unbelivable that it scares off a clan of snarling wolves. His bold personality saves his compainions and they exclaim "Tacky is an odd bird but a very nice one to have around." If you have a pulse you will love this book.

This book has a fun story with great illustrations, and Tacky's personality just jumps out at you! You can almost hear the music when he sings, and you can't help but love that quirky penguin! My 2 year old loves this book, and my cousins loved it when they were 8 and 10. Gotta love it when the outsider saves the day!
