Just got my Sidekick LX today, and here is the scoop:
The good: The T-Mobile Sidekick LX has the best display of any Sidekick yet. It is 3 inches wide and has a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. The Sidekick LX is the first Sidekick yet that is MMS compatible... at least on the T-Mobile network. T-Mobile removed MMS from all the other sidekicks. It also offers Bluetooth, MySpace Mobile integration, and a much improved 1.3-megapixel camera with a very strong flash to provide the best picture quality of any sidekick yet.
The bad: The Sidekick LX's camera, although good at picture taking, doesn't record video and there's no integrated Wi-Fi. The phone's speaker is on the weaker side, and there's no A2DP Bluetooth support. The battery is also rather weak, much in the same way the Sidekick 3's battery was.
Sidekick LX: Talk: 6.8 hours (408 minutes)
Standby: 96 hours (4 days)
Sidekick 3: Talk: 4.5 hours (270 minutes)
Standby: 72 hours (3 days)
Overall, I would recommend this phone for anyone who likes to text or e-mail a lot. For anyone who loves recording or watching videos, this is not the phone for you.

As a loyal owner of many models of the Sidekick Dynasty, I have suffered (albeit joyously) through various stages of metamorphosis--from awkwardly bulky housing, nonprogrammable sound profiles, to not-quite-what-it-could-be interfaces. It seems, however, that Sidekick has finally come into its own in the newest and most improved Sidekick LX from T-Mobile.
The list of heralded improvements starts with the slim and sleek, even thinner than before design, which looks and feels similar to the famously thin RAZR by Motorola. Available in espresso brown or midnight blue, the housing is shiny, smooth like glass, and features a leather-like backing to the battery compartment. The brilliant high-resolution screen is now three inches wide and crisper, brighter than ever, even when kept at "low" brightness level, which conserves battery life.
The LX boasts new blue "mood lights" located at each of the four corners, which can be customized to suit different message/text/IM/email alerts. The mood lights and track ball light up whenever the user receives a call/IM/text/email.
For anyone who has owned or operated a Blackberry interface, users may be pleasantly familiar with the LX OS, as it is somewhat similar. The email application is effortless, reminiscent of Mozilla Firefox's easy tab configuration and those who are upgrading from the Sidekick 3, will find their settings, email accounts and nearly every setting from their Sidekick 3 already conveniently configured on the LX. New customizable options include font size, as well as backgrounds and complete sound-infused themes.
As for games, say "bye bye" to Rocket Blaster and "Heeellllo" to Bob's Journey: TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH! This popular game comes pre-loaded!
And now, for the creme de la creme...
I have saved the two best features of the new Sidekick LX for last.
For users who are Myspace addicts, a completely user-friendly and super convenient Myspace application is available for download in the catalog! While the application itself is free to download, users will have to agree to a nominal monthly fee until the application is discarded. In the Myspace application, users will enjoy "online now!" status, up to the minute photo/profile comment alerts, mail/blog subscription post/comments/friend request alerts, as well as instant picture upload straight from the LX to their Myspace profile! Myspace alert sounds are customizable as well.
And finally...*drum roll, please*
The feature many have been waiting so patiently for...
For the first time on a Sidekick, users are now able to send Picture Messages/(MMS)!!!!!!! No longer will users have to email pictures to a long numerical phone number email address, no more are the days of being outside the MMS loop. Rejoice! Picture Messaging has arrived!
All in all, I couldn't be happier with the extremely well done revamping on T-Mobile's Sidekick line, and have rated it a definite, no-doubt "excellent."

i'm not so happy because i boutht a phone in ebay but i did't know it was fake and the seller never told me that it's my first time buying in ebay and i paid $190.00 for a fake phone it's no fear i don't fell so good about it so i don't recommend to my friends buy in ebay.

Entire listing advertises phone, free 2GB memory card with free shipping. All you get is an auto-email from the seller with a link t-mobile/Avon. She is completely rude and said it was my problem if I can't see that it says promo code only. First off it said promo code nowhere on the entire listing and secondly theres no code anyway...anyone can go to the link and buy the phone with 2 year contract. So after you pay for the stupid link, then you have to pay again for a phone and a contract. Just walk in T-mobile, its cheaper! Pay Pals so called safe buying would not make her refund the money. I'm still wondering where this free mem card is and what she thinks she's shipping "Free".

The best thing about any sidekick is it's superb abilities to use AOL Instant Messenger, but with the LX model it is made much easier. The keyboard is about the same as the sidekick 3's in size, but makes use of the rubbery keyboard that the sidekick 2 users missed so much. The sidekick LX has a very very large screen compared to most regular phones, which is also bright and hi-ressed, which makes its use an enjoyable experience. It also has nifty mood lights that light up whenever your trackball did with your old sidekick i.e ( New text message, New Email, New IM, New Voicemail, and etc.)
And with the new OTA(Over-The-Air) update on the sidekick LX line, it has new capabilities, such as video recording, a alarm clock, and an enhanced internet browser, which made the already easier to browse even simpler. Web pages look absolutely stunning on the LX's screen.
Bottomline f your upgrading from any previous sidekick, or any current sidekick, or completely new to the sidekick, you'll love this sidekick LX, it is indeed the best on the current sidekick line.

My cousin was looking for this exact phone, but could not afford the price tag at the stores. It was in excellent condition, and just what he wanted. It's great with texting, phone book is awesome, downloading is a snap. Could not go wrong for the price and can even get a great warranty with square trade, better than the insurance offers.

to send payment and when I didn't hear back, I relisted it and
sold it. Your emails must have gone to my bulk mail account.
Since you sent me a money order addressed to me, I had to cash
it, or you wouldn't have been able to get the money back. I am
putting a check in the mail tomorrow to you for the full amount,
and I am really sorry about this misunderstanding
in the mail after I had already sold this phone to another

sidekick lxThe phone is great and realy user friendly
the not so good parts are:
* internet is sloooooooow
* most sidekicks have no video capability or tv acces. I called T Mobile about it and they said that the company is working on a upgrade of their system but don't know when it'll happen.
* My husband has another wireless provider and their internet is faster, they offer tv access and is cheaper.

Bought 2 tmobile sidekick Lx phones for my 2 sons. One came as described with accessories described, holder, instruction manual, charger. The seller communicated well, letting me know when they would ship and when to expect so I could arrange to be home to receive.
The other did not work well. Had a problem with sim chip reader which caused the phone to not know it's number, and be unuseable. This was occured periodically, but did not work more than it did work. Seller advertised came with holster, that it did not have. Also stated on web site would ship same day, but did not ship for 4-5 days. Seller did not respond after I received phone and it did not work.

i didnt have a chance to like or dislike my sidekick because i never recived my sidekick.i never got my sidekick and im very angry and i never recived my money.i reported it and nothing happened the next step is making a police report because its pissin me off. my mom has tried to get her money back from pay pal. nothin happened. i'm goin to create a police report if i dont get my phone in the next 2 weeks. mind you i'm this long with out a phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

coupon for sidekickI decided to get a tmobile sidekick because all i really wanted was text messaging a web browser and a cheap calling plan, with my fave 5, i make unlimited calls to 5 people and i also have unlimited data services thru tmobile with sidekick plan cheaper than paying for a normal fun with internet. with the coupon i got my phone for free, and it was worth the extra 5 dollars. It would have cost me 200 just for the phone... I wish I had more bars in certain areas, but i think the sound quality and service of tmobile is just as good as any other service, and the sidekick is an awesome phone.
