Count Basie's big band sound remains among the swingingest jazz orchestras.
Tony Bennett is a legendary jazz-oriented pop singer.
Together they are sensational. Monty Alexander holds the space that Basie did before he died. This is swing, holiday style. The 11 tracks are:
1) I'll Be Home For Christmas
2) Silver Bells
3) All I Want for Christmas is You
4) My Favorite Things
5) Christmas Time is Here
6) Winter Wonderland
7) Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
8) Santa Claus is Coming to Town
9) I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm
10) The Christmas Waltz
11) O Christmas Tree
Artists included are:
Antonia Bennett, Tony Bennet, Count Bassie Big Band (Grant Langford, Marshall McDonald (alto saxophone); Doug Lawrence, Doug Miller (tenor saxophone); John Williams (baritone saxophone); Scotty Barnhart, James Zollar, MIchael Williams , Kris Johnson (trumpet); Clarence Banks, Alvin Walker, Dave Keim, Barry Cooper (trombone).
Other artists include: Gray Sargent (guitar); Toots Thielemans (harmonica); Andy Snitzer (tenor saxophone); Monty Alexander, Lee Musiker (piano); Paul Langosch (bass instrument); Harold Jones (drums).
This is a very tight CD with some of the best jazz techniques set to Christmas tunes~
