Sweet Home Alabama (DVD, 2003)

This is, above all, a cute girly movie. Girls will love it for a date night or just by yourself. Reese Witherspoon does a nice job as do the other actors. Of course this movie won't win any awards, but if you're looking to be entertained for an hour, this will do it! Plus, the sand glass is interesting!

Reese Witherspoon puts on a great performance. Her character returns home to Alabama after years of being away. She has come home to get a divorce from her HUSBAND, for she is ready to marry someone else. Only problem is, is that when they get together all they want to do is fight, then they realize that they really did miss each other. Really good movie; one you wouldn't want to miss.

This Chick Flick has plenty of entertainment value for all, and I realy enjoyed this one, and highly reccomend it to all, even the guys out there. Ever adorable Reece Witherspoon plays the lead role in this action filled romantic-comedy. Very enjoyable film.

This is an awesome movie...Reese Witherspoon is great in this film. A must see. It's very funny and includes a wonderful cast.

I like this movie because I love the South and enjoyed feeling like I was visiting a bunch of old friends and family, just like the title character got to do. It has humor and warmth to it, although I'm not so sure people who don't live in the South will appreciate some of the humor. I'm a Yankee who now lives in the South, and when I saw this movie in a northern theater, there wasn't much laughter, but when I watched it with my Southern friends, we laughed a lot more. But Reese Witherspoon is fun to watch, and seeing "Dr. McDreamy" from Grey's Anatomy in an earlier role is neat, too. There is some offensive language but no violence or sex. I recommend it for anyone with a good sense of humor who wants a light comedy.

Reese Witherspoon stars in SWEET HOME ALABAMA, a charming romantic comedy directed by Andy Tennant. Witherspoon is Melanie Carmichael, a Southern girl who leaves her past behind in order to find success as a fashion designer in New York City. The truth is that Melanie, whose real last name is Smooter, is still married to her childhood sweetheart, Jake (Josh Lucas), who refuses to grant her a divorce. As Melanie reunites with her parents and old friends, she is forced to reevaluate her new-and-improved self. In the process, she rediscovers a love that she thought she had lost. Tennant's film is elevated by Witherspoon's mere presence. Her rare blend of intelligence, wit, and beauty are a wonder to behold. Adding to the charm are Lucas and Dempsey, who portray characters who are hard to root against.

This movie had it all!! I bought this movie right after it came out as I fell in love with it. This is a great chick flick, a great date movie, and a great comedy all in one.

In this movie Reese Witherspoon moves from Alabama to the City to be a clothing designer. She left a part of her in Alabama and her husband. She meets and gets engaged in the City, but can't marry due to having the husband in Alabama. She has to go home, and try to convince him to divorce her. In going home, she finds herself again, finds passion, and finds her home all over again. This is "THE" Movie to see as it is incredible!!!

We really enjoyed this movie. This cute, hometown story was entertaining the whole time. Great acting and characters. Love these quirky, romantic movies.

thing someday; for it looks like some good redneck fun! Reese Witherspoon is hot and my wife says the guy is too. (for I would not know that sort of thing) The acting is very good and story is interesting and funny. "That's all I got to say about that".

I have yet to recieve this purchase. I haven't got my movie. I prurchased it some time ago and I have kept in contact with the seller. i have not seen it and The seller claims he has not recieved back yet.

I absolutely loved this movie! I'm from Oklahoma and the movie reminded me of all of my neighbors. I loved how Reese could change her voice to sound so southern. She did such an amazing job and both of the male leading roles did an amazing job as well! They were both so cute!

I have watched this movie so many times and it is one of those you want to watch again and again. It is a Great love story. If you haven't saw it Watch it.

Reese Withspoon finds her southern self in an upperclass relationship just to find out that the man she really loves is her husband! She flys back home from New York to Alabama to meet her husband to sign the divorce papers so she can marry her new New York man, whose mom is a political figure and thinks her southern ways will ruin her and her sons reputation. During this time, the son does not know she is still married, and that her feelings fer her husband are growing stronger. A very cute chick flick a must see for any Reese Witherspoon fan!

This is one of my favorite all time movies. I have it in my collection. If you like such movies as Notting Hill, How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, The Story Of Us...I think you would also love this movie. I am a huge fan of Reese Witherspoon and I love her in this movie! I completely recommend it...it is a must for Romantic/Comedy fans!!

This was a used DVD. The DVD has a bad spot at 1 hr and 7 minutes. I've bought many used DVD's before, but the quality of this one was substandard. I am disappointed and now unsure if I will ever buy another used DVD. The seller is standing behind this product; however, I am having to spend more money to ship it back. So it is costing more than what I could have bought a new one at the store.

This movie is very cute with an excellent story line. The actors and actresses are all very well known and play graet parts in this film. Even though it is a love story I think both men and women will enjoy this movie. I definately recommend it, it's one of my favorites.

Definitely a girl movie, but one of the best girl movies IMO. Reese Witherspoon was right at home playing the southern girl turned professional, but Josh Lucas was the highlight of the movie for me...WOW, where did this actor come from. With his piercing blue eyes, this Matthew Mchonahay look alike will make you root fot him instead of rooting for the girl, like in most girl movies. This was a very entertaining movie and one of the most watched of my DVD collection!

Another great chick flick. Funny, witty and makes you feel good at the end. Its a good date movie. Basically its about Reese Witherspoon who has moved from a poor town in alabama to become a hotshot clothing designer in NYC. But she comes back to her past when she tries to get a divorce from the love of her life. Meanwhile, she falls back in love with her past and her ex-husband. Its a romantic comedy and a perfect movie for a girl or a date

Sweet Home Alabama isn't your usual romantic comedy. The characters lives are more detailed and that back story makes you genuinely care about what is going on in the story. Reese Witherspoon really delivers in this movie. So does Candace Bergen--as the mayor you love to hate.

I absolutely loved this movie. It's a movie I could (and do) watch over and over again. It makes you laugh a lot. It has a moral to the story, there are lessons learned, it has romance and great actors/actresses. It helps you remember that your family IS important, no matter where they come from or who they are. I love Patrick Dempsey, Josh Lucas and Reese Witherspoon in this movie. Great love story and great comedy.
