This is a great little paperback (and very affordable) that will help you navigate the new financial obstacles you may be facing in 2009. Suze writes with her tough love approach, and is very candid about saying NO when you have to. The book has situations and actions--for example, Situation: your daughter is getting married and you thought you’d have a huge wedding for her. Action: how to realistically plan a wedding that doesn’t sink you immediately and in the future.
She knows banking and insurance and investments and can help you quickly find answers for your situations.
This is like “Eat This, Not That” for finances, or "2009 Finances for Dummies."
If it is hard for you to say NO to yourself or your children, you can make Suze the “bad cop.” This is a helpful reference book that will help you assess your current state, and move forward with a plan instead of fear or ignorance.
Get a copy for yourself and one for giving away. Most of us will need this in 2009 and beyond.

I bought Suze Orman 2009 Action plan thinking, WOW I can get some ideas how to get out of DEBT.. Her book is well written, but not for the average blue collar household that makes under $100,000. I own a small business that is going down the tubes with the economy just piling up more debt as the months go by..What do I do?? She doesnt answer that question. She is concerned about ones FICA score, which is important, but I would have rather liked some ideas how to knock down my creditcard debt without getting a 2nd or 3rd job. I work hard enough as it is. I did take her advice regarding my car loan..She said contact the lender and try to renegotiate the rate without extending the terms. I am waiting for the results...Good luck to ALL...

I think this is a good book for people who may not have a goof FICO score or who don't know many thngs about money in general. Has some good tips but don't know if I would have bought it since most of it pretains to credit.

This book is a great start for those of us who feel like the rug was pulled out from under us in 2008. If you have been faced with job loss, retirement fund loss or just feeling the general economic pinch, Suze lays out a plan for you to help bring control over your finances based on the new reality. Valuable Guide.Question and Answer format makes it EZ to find the info that's for you; and skip the parts that don't apply. A valuable survival and planning guide for college financing, 401K rollover options, credit report scores, and many other timely tips. Also, Roth IRA tips e.g. why you might want to wait until 2010 to change to a Roth (rather than 2009).

Suze Orman's 2009 Action PlanI am in the position, like almost everyone else in America, of trying to stretch my money farther while safeguarding the money I have left. This book helps people understand how to do just that! It is extremely easy to read. A portion of the book is set up in a a question/answer format that is easy to understand. The questions posed are relevant to so many people in America who are currently struggling with credit card debt, foreclosures, mortgage payments, college loans, etc. All my questions have been answered in reading this book, and I feel I have a more thorough understanding of how to better manage my money in the future.

Suze OrmansI have not heard of her until my cousin started talking about her. Right after her telling me how good her advise is she was on tv on a talkshow. After watching her in action I decided to purchase her book. I like her tips and informationa she provides. I would recommend this book.
