  "Survior" Chuck Palahniuk
Review created: 04/10/08

Chuck Palaniuk creates worlds of his own. In this book the main character, "Tender Branson", is brilliantly crafted. With thoughts and mentallity. He is put threw situations that you couldnt even dream of. I do not want to give away the plot, but you have to read this book! My number one favorite of the Chuck's plethera of amazing, deathly, mind-boggling works.

Ladies and Gents, we have just lost cabin pressure!

'Survivor' comes across to me as Chuck Palahniuk's most personal novel. In an interesting artistic move the book begins at the final page and works backwards to 1. recounting the life of Tender Branson, "Survivor" of a suicide Cult. A recurring theme in Palahniuk's novels is the bewitching female character that always seems to always have a leg up on the male, sometimes leading to his downfall. The queen of this ideal has to be Fertility Hollis who offers up what I believe to be the most honest look into the mind of the author and his views on relationships.
While, most of Palahniuk's novels are about actions and movement, 'Survivor' is to me, about looking inward and reflection. Although 'Survivor' is the most serious offering that I have read from Chuck Palahniuk, his signature sarcastic wit is not lost in the depth of this creepy yet tougching novel.
'Survivor' is perhaps Palahniuk's most widely accessible work to date and it shows us the range and talent of this truly remarkable author; Most importantly, the off beat brilliance of Chuck P. continues to shine through.

Survivor is hysterical and intriguing. I read it in one night, couldn't put it down. The plot is fast paced and will make your head spin.
