Surviving James Dean by William Bast (2006, Hardcover)

The reason this book makes it so believable and understanding compared to other biographies is that this one is written by the person who knew James Dean personally during the last five years of his life. He answers questions and sets the record straight regarding speculations in other biographies. In my opinion, people should understand that this book brings out the truth about one of Americas most enduring idols and, if you are a true fan, nothing can damage that image you have of James Dean.

I am a lifetime James Dean fan, & I have every book written about him. I wanted it because it was written by someone who really knew him. I disliked the part, where I am learning about his personal life.
