Survey Of Historic Costume by Keith Eubank, Phyllis Tortora (2005, Hardcover)

My son needed this book for his fashion class and we decided to look to Ebay instead of purchaing it in the school book store. We liked the fact that it was less expensive than it cost at the book store. We had a few weeks to wait before he needed to use it and thought this would be a good idea for us. Unfortunately the seller never sent the book. I sent 4 emails and never received a response, which caused me to really lose faith in the process of buying anything "needed" online. I wish seller would have emailed me to notify me that they were not going to send the book, it would have relieved the stress I had when I was forced to purchase the book locally.
I will say that the system Ebay or half.com has set up, make the purchasing process easy and for the most part, user friendly. My only wish was that Ebay will somehow make it harder for "just anyone" to be a seller online. Potential sellers should have to put something into it to show they are legit, possibly a deposit that they can get back if they perform a certain number of sells, successfully.
For us, it is nice that we will get our money back but it in no way, pays for the hassle, the irritation of not being notified and the last minute running and scrambling we had to do to find a book in our area...our book store was sold out!!! As I said above, we will still use Ebay for things that we can afford to wait for, but never on text books again.
The only reason that I have not rated this "poor" is because we did get our money back and because Ebay has given me the opportunity to vent my disappointment online.

I have no review for this item. Ordered and paid for August 24th never received. Will never use this site again.

the book is in good/fair condition and there is no writing in the pages. it is clean and well kept. thanks!

I have to buy this book cuz it's required for my class, history of costume.
It actually has interesting information on early people dresses and the accesory and more.

I'm a new member since June 2008. Two days ago I put my very first item for sale, a fashion book. I got horrible reviews ruining my reputation as a saler for no reason. I'm not the seller of those people that claimed to purchase my item and never received it. I never sold anything before and it's a shame, that you guys out there, aren't more careful about the way you vent your anger. I have nothing to do with any of you and it's a shame that I have to pay the price of somebody elses bad behavior. By the way, Nikki20052008, your purchase was in March 2008 (I became a member in June 2008), and the same goes for all of you that dare to give me such horrible reviews. Please be sure that next time you give a review to someone is the right person.

I purchased this book on march 25,2008 and as of may 5,2008, I have yet to recieved the product it has been 41 days. This seller has emailed and stated that they have mail the book and that the shipping label fell off and that's why i have not recieved my book. As of today i dont have a book or a refund and the seller says that when the post office finds the book they will mail it to me. So with all of that said i would buy from this person again.

I bought this book for my class and it seems to be good book so far. It really goes into detail where the certain type of fashion comes from and gives good examples. So if you want to learn where fashion comes from this is a good book.

I bought this book for school and NEVER received it! I contacted the seller many times and never received any feedback from them. I am still waiting for my money and I want it back! ASAP FYI I would not recommend buying from this seller.
