Surgical Recall by Lorne H. Blackbourne (2005, Paperback)

I am in a surgical PA (Physician's Assistant) program, and this book is invaluable when it comes to surgical knowledge. The book has pictures of surgical instruments, gives a brief history of surgery, lists types of suture, includes just about every surgical specialty, and covers most of the questions you will be asked by surgeons on a day-to-day basis. What else could you ask for?
If you are a Med student, PA student, or anyone else who will be "pimped" in surgery, this is the book for you. I don't know if there is another book that compares to it. I highly recommend it!

This is a very good book, it is concise and you can read it in short periods of time. It has the answer to most of the questions attendings ask, however some of the information may not be the most uptodate.

I received the book very quickly, I had no problems, and the book was as described. I am very pleased with this transaction.

I like this more than On Call or any of the other "pocket" books. Lots of tips, procedures, pimp questions and surgical diagnoses in Q&A style. Not enough depth for rotation exams, get either Lawrence or CSD&T for that, but perfect for reading between cases or when you have a couple minutes of down time.
