I first learned about Nusrat when I went to the Sundance Film Festival several years ago. I saw a documentary film about his life and music, and I was hooked.
I then discovered his incredible background vocals in the movie Dead Man Walking.
If you have never listened to any of Nusrat's music, buy this or another of his CD's. I promise, you have never heard vocals like this before. Jeff Buckley wrote the liner notes for this CD, and he eloquently describes his first time hearing Nusrat. Awesome music and awesome vocals from the master!
