This is a clasic starring James Garner, and its a great deal, and film to pass on to the kids. I love it.

Made in the late 60's when Garner still had that fresh "Maverick" appeal. Watch closely and see how funny this movie really is! Harry Morgan delivers a line about his daughter's "Dear departed mother" that is hilarious. Everywhere you look there is a sight gag and something funny that will make you want to watch it over again. This movie is great for the the entire family. Watch it on a lazy day or anytime you need a quick laugh!

We need more movies like this today. The actors all work well together and "read between the lines" quips are all but a lost art in our society. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that needs a good laugh and wants a quality western. James Garner,Jack Elam, Harry Morgan, Walter Brennan all play their parts well and keep you interested to the last line. I give this movie 4 stars! Be sure to see the sequel, "Support Your Local Gunfighter". Equally entertaining!!!!

just really enjoy james garner westerns. i realy like comedy westerns. all the cast works very well together

One of the best comedy westerns ever made. An all star cast that just works great together. No sex, no language and no real violence yet a movie you will watch over and over. Wish they could still make 'em like that.

James Garner is in top form in this movie that is a comedic western. The supporting cast is great and the idea of a movie anyone can watch and be entertained by is a novel experience anymore. It is light-hearted and engaging.

I got it because I like the stars in it. It is clean fun and James Garner is in his prime. Ms. Hackett is priceless. It saddens me to know she died so young.

If you enjoy a good comedy and westerns, you should love watching this movie. James Garner plays an oportunist cowboy who ends up being the sheriff of a gold rush town who needs a lot of law and order. The means to which the new sheriff goes to get his law and order, leaves everyone who watches this movie with us, laughing throughout the entire movie. James Garner does a great job with this role and if you are familiar with his acting and enjoy viewing movies with him, you will most likely enjoy this performance as well.

I had 160 dvds stolen and I have been using ebay to replace them because it is the easiest and cheapest way to replace them. I like having these movies available so that I can watch them when I want to.
