I feel this was a "good",very GOOD....used cd i bought off Ebay---in fact we bought 2 cds....one for me one,and one for my girlfriend to listen to in her car on her way to work in the morning---ok! now....the main reason we bought S-S is cause of the intense vocal talent of Chris Cornell......the main songs we LOVE are-----BLACK HOLE SUN,SPOONMAN,AND....FELL ON BLACK DAYS. The rest of the cd is also good songs---w/plenty of great guitar work and the whole band really was at.....THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.....at that point. When i read in Rock magazines from the OLD days---that people like AXL ROSE said they were BLOWN AWAY by the Vocals put out by CC.....i just had to investigate! I AM GLAD I DID! People reading my "review".....please do yourself a favor and get this CD.You won't regret it.

When I compare the great hard rock/metal albums this one has to rate up there with the best. Soundgarden reminds me of a modern Black Sabbath on this one. You will probably know 1/2 the songs from the radio (which makes it an enjoyable listen) and all the songs in between are jsut as good. So if you want a CD that fits in with your classic metal/hard rock collection this one should fit in just fine.

ONE OF THE BEST MUSICAL WORKS OF THE 90'S!

Soundgarden goes from hard and raunchy, to disturbingly mellow while still creating a frenzy of sensation in your mind. This album is a trip. One of the best to come out of the 90's....

why i like this cd? well it was a very good album that had a few singles like Superunknown, Fell On Black Days, Blackhole Sun and Spoonman. this was also the the early 90's when the Seattle sound was still doing pretty well.

My husband loves this old CD, and plays it in his truck all of the time.
I was just looking for some old albums, and he asked if I could find this one on Ebay. No problem...great to have found it at a great price.
Thank you.

What a voice! What a band!
Review created: 10/04/07

This is Soundgarden's most famous album and deservedly so. It is dark and moody, but has some upbeat stuff too. "Fell on Black Days" is my favorite on this one. Everything about it is excellent. It has the perfect balance that is so hard to find in many songs. "Black Hole Sun" is the mega-hit from this album. It is an excellent song which shows how beautiful Chris Cornell's voice can be (it also has a very original video). "Spoonman" is the other radio hit and is different than most of their songs. It has a great beat and some very cool drumming. "The Day I Tried To Live" is a very interesting song. The lyrics make it seem like someone is given a chance to live and they waste it. This is another screamer and features more of the signature tightness from the band. There are many other good songs on this album, but I feel these are the biggest standouts. Any fan of the grunge era owes it to themselves to get this. It is a prime example of the genre at its best.

  Essential listening.
Review created: 06/22/07(updated 06/22/07)

Without question one of the top rock albums of the 1990s. This is a band in top form with each member at their very best. The songs are vital and with 13 years under their belt sound even better today. What I hear more today vs in 94 is the excellence of the drums. You can feel the passion and energy with every smack. If you aspire to be a rock drummer in any way I would recommend you listen to this album. If you turn it up and get through Drown Me without goosebumps, chills and adrenaline surges, turn it off. You'll miss this point. An absolute classic and must own for any fan of music.

This CD is one of my all time favorite. I just recently had all my CDs stolen from me so i'm in the process of finding all of them again. Ebay is the best place I have found on the internet to find really good CDs for nothing. Thank you for all the great purchases and there will be a lot more in the future. Thank you again.
