Supernatural: The Complete First Season (2006, DVD)

I watched this show from the very first episode because its premise caught my attention and was pleasantly surprised by just how good it turned out to be. The two actors who play the Winchester brothers play very well off of one another and have great chemistry. Jensen Ackles, who plays the older brother is really the break out star of this show as his performances are outstanding. On the surface he appears to be little more than the smart ass big brother who simply wants to hunt down and destroy any supernatural creature he possibly can. It doesn't take long for us to see that Sam (the youngest) is not the only compassionate brother. They both want to find their father and avenge their mother's death as well as help others along the way. Add the character of the father to the mix and things get even more interesting. This show is not just about two demon-hunting brothers. It also skillfully explores the complicated relationship not only between the brothers, but between the brothers and their father as well. Supernatural only gets better and better as the season progresses and has become much more than just a monster of the week show. Every episode has wonderful, witty dialogue and unlike some other 'generic' horror/sci-fi shows targeted at younger audiences, Supernatural purposely tries to be different and to stand out from the crowd (and succeeds). By the end of this first season, I was completely enthralled by the storylines and looked forward to the show every week. The action only gets better and better until the season finale that leaves you wondering, what are the Winchesters going to do next and how will they possibly top this in season 2?

I Loved the first season and will be purchasing the second season soon. The dvd set had great quality and picture. I love every single episode so far. Supernatural is my fave! Dosent hurt that 'Dean' is sooo hot too=)

This show looks great sitting next to the Buffy series! I think anyone who grew up with the Buffy/Angel TV shows would love Supernatural. The acting is fantastic and it definitely has a great storyline that should allow it to continue on for a few more seasons. It's even good at sending shivers up spines and I've spent many nights watching this show and actually getting that genuine creepy feeling that one gets in typical horror/monster movies.

I definitely recommend this, especially if you're into Buffy/Angel. This is a great addition for any Buffy fan! The best part about buying the season is that you can never get sick of it. The episodes are just as exciting each time you watch them.

I do not hesitate to say this is the best television show on TV right now. The two actors that star in this show are just amazing! You will be terrified one moment and the next laughing because of the banter between them.

I love the charaters, and the concepts of the supernatural and the unknown. The writing is true to leagen and on the edge TV, very bold. I bought it because I wanted to see the episodes that I missed and watch the others anytime.

My family didn't discover Supernatural until half way through season 3. My husband had rented Disc One of Season One on the recommendation of a coworker. I admit, I was very sceptical. Although I am an X-files fan, so many horror/scifi shows fall far short of "the suspension of disbelief". I enjoyed the pilot and first 3 episodes, but didn't feel too excited. We kept on with the rest of the first season and I found myself liking the dynamics of the characters more and more. Most of the plots were very good, with a few sour notes. As we watched this show as a family on Saturdays, I found myself looking forward to it more and more. Even more important-My daughter, who doesn't like horror movies (they give her nightmares, even at 15) found it enjoyable. This is a great horror series that can be scary, but never crosses the line and become like Dawn of the Dead! I bought both the first and second seasons so I can catch up and watch the 2nd half of season 3 on TV. I can't wait to see the special features that come with the box set-especially the gag reel!

This show has humor, scary scenes and two great looking guys. Everything you need for your viewing pleasure. This show is one of the best of this genre. I have not seen one episode that I didn't enjoy. Getting the box set was great since you didn't have to wait a week to see the next episode.

I bought this box set as a gift for my dad for his birthday. I have sat down and watched it a few times with him and i actually liked it myself. SAM and DEAN are wonderful, talented actors. I would highly recommend this box set to anyone.

This tv series is one of the best. We live in Germany and could not find the first series. The seller was so polite and great with emails and the price was right for us. Watching this show lets me exscape reality for one hour a week and besides that SAM and DEAN are just 2 of the coolest characters on T.V.
