Superman Returns: The Videogame (Xbox 360, 2006)

If you haven't read my comments before I briefly said I was waiting
for the game. Two weeks ago I finally received it. So far I like the
challenges I am facing. The opening graphics are okay, I wished the title
was a bit more enticing. The opening scene has Superman seeing a meteor shower
aimed straight for earth. Jor El (superman) father tells him about his powers
namely flying. Work on flying better and using your heat vision and cold breath
effective if you want to advance further in the game. I am still trying to over
come the meteor shower. Wish me luck. In short it is a challenging game with
interesting twist and surprises. I will tell you more later if you are still
interested.

I made the purchase for this item because I was able to download a demo version from Xbox live to try. I think the game is excellent and I'm extremely happy with it. I got the best price on Ebay for it and the shipping was extremely fast. If you're a Superman fan I think you'll love this game and it's great for all ages. Not extreme violence which I really appreciated. Great game. I highly recommend.

Definitely a renter for casual Superman fans and only those who want to fly around Metropolis at the end of a hard day should consider a purchase.

One of the best games of the year!!! You can fly all over any part of the city and you have use of Superman's full arsenal of weapons. Finally a good movie comes to the video game.

i finally can live out my destiny ( dreams). i would recommend this to old comic book fans to young 'whipper-snappers' alike. just don't expect any chores to get done ( the world needs saving first).

This is a great game the play area is insanely big and the combos youcan string together are amazing if you're a fan of supehero games this is a must have.

Superman is a fun game. You can fly wherever you want in the city. It's great how strong you are. Nobody can match your power. Great game.

Introduction
While I haven't had too much success enjoying Movie Tie in games, here is another one. A few websites list this game as a sandbox game, it definitely not like Grand Theft Auto or even Crackdown. It feels more like an RPG game where you have a main story line and side quests to progress. There might be a little spoiler but I will try my best.

Content:
While this has the same name as the movie, the game and the movie share very little in the storyline. The game itself is short to complete the main storyline. You get to face a half dozen or so villains in the Superman Universe. The side quests and achievements extend the life of the game but not by much and is very annoying.

Game play:
The first few mission you learn how to use Superman's super powers. The usual flying, running and punching, also you get to perform combo moves to deal extra damage. You can interact with most of the items and people in Metropolis, this can actually be more harmful because it part of the city's health that you have to maintain.

Graphics:
The game is third person. The graphics are ok at best and with the big city like Metropolis the interactive scenery just gets repetitive.

Sound and Music:
Little sound bits of Superman can be heard from time to time but most of the speech comes from cut scenes. The music doesn't have the feel like the movies where you have a large orchestral score.

Difficulty:
This is a very easy game. If "Superman" is defeated you just continue where you left off. Once you lean each villain's weakness you will defeat them with ease. You can most likely finish the game in one day.

Final Thoughts:
This game is a rental game. While you can find this in most bargain bins. You rarely find a good movie tie in game and this game proves that. While it did have a good starting point, I feel the programmers didn't execute it properly and was rushed out the door.

I bought the Superman Returns game for Christmas to go with the Xbox I bought for my husband. He enjoys the game very much. So much in fact, he forgets his honey do list!

This was a gift! The men in my life said the game is ok. They seem to like the war games and the zombie games. They did say the graphics were really cool. Good game for teens. For the game lovers in my home, this was just an ok game! The more blood and guts the better. <ugh> I'll stick to my computer!

I liked the movie and i wanted to fly around as superman kinda like spider man you can just go around being cool. Price was cheap so I had to jump on it plus i have an 11 year old boy he loves it. Thank you Russ

If you are a superman fan, you must have this one! The game is actually very fun, the graphics are simply indeed but you can fly all the way to one corner of another of metropolis and sometimes can interact with scenarios. There are also some pretty good CG animations between the missions. Like others movie games after a while you get tired of doing all that same stuff in the city but anyways works great for a movie game. Try for yourself!

I played this game for a total of about five minutes, then got in my car, drove to the local Gamestop and traded it for something that resembled a cool video game. Controls are too difficult and after the initial training kept dying, because I could not understand the directives of game. Not so super after all. I bought Sonic Hedgehog instead!

Seller was absolutely horrible. Poor communication and the game came in poorly packaged and destroyed.

I played this game before and I liked it. I got it for a decent price and only waited about 2 days until I received it.

I love this game! for anyone that love superman like I do will find this game fun. You can really like the fact that you can fly really fast. A+
