Superhero Movie! (DVD, 2008, Extended Edition)

This was actually really funny unlike the latest poofs (Epic, Date, Spartans).
I practically laughed my head off in the theatre with a couple of friends who were doing the same.
My guess is anyone who didn't find this funny at all has poor or dead sense of humor.

I expected more from this movie since the Director did Scary Movie 3 & 4 and I really like Leslie Nielsen (Police Squad and Many more films).

However the reality is the movie is not even remotely funny. It is all the same old jokes and gags as any other spoof film only none of it made me laugh (I did laugh once but it was over the stupidity of the gag, not that it was funny). The movie was not entertaining and it mainly centered around the Spiderman movie. There is nothing new and certainly nothing to entertain.

If you must see the movie, rent it, or borrow it from someone you can give it back to when your done. This does not belong in a collection it belongs the trash.

I saw this in the theater and it was very funny. I knew it would be good since this director of Scary Movie 3 & 4 knows how to make people laugh with his spoof and screwball humor!

Very funny movie, watched it with myt kids and it makes you laugh the whole time, Leslie Nielson was great as well.

...but let's be honest here, "Superhero Movie" is really just a series of gags, sex jokes, and farts that share the Superhero theme and are strung together by a gooey bonding substance otherwise known as "scenes" that exist just to set up another joke or one liner. That's probably why it barely clocks in at 80 minutes, but with the shallow feel and lack of true inspiration, the producers may have actually done us a favor by cutting it off early, and frankly "Superhero Movie" feels like it ran out steam by about the 30 minute mark leaving us to endure the rest so it can be called a "movie". How selfish.

I haven't seen the recent rash of "Date Movie", "Epic Movie", "Disaster Movie", and so on because none looked terribly funny to me and they were coming out faster than the films they satired. "Scary Movie" (the first 2 and some of 3) were funny films, in fact I recite many scenes among friends constantly from those films. Spoofs can be very fun. "The Naked Gun" and "Airplane" films are true testaments that straight faced stupidity can still be gut bustingly funny. "Superhero Movie" is not this. It does have moments, it does have a few laughs. I won't pretend that it didn't get smirks out me. Any scene with Leslie Nielsen is worth watching. He knows comedy and can do it with his eyes closed. Jeffrey Tambor shines as the most frustrating and clueless M.D. I've seen in some time. It should be a sign, an omen perhaps, when the supporting crew eclipses, outshines, and makes you forget that the main cast members even exist.

There's no way to logically summarize the plot. Take every scene from every memorable superhero film and they simply redo them, only adding a fart or boob reference. Shameless, shallow attempts to get chuckles; and aside the passive 9 year old child, I don't find many feeling like their 78 minutes were invested well when the credits roll around. "Superhero Movie" is however stylish and very slick for a low budget, 5 week shooting schedule of a junk food film. Give credit when do, then continue to lampoon it.

I can't recomend this. Even to fans of spoofs, or fans of the Superhero genre who might think they will like to see their films made fun of, it's not so much about spoofing superhero films and the stereotypes they possess as oppose to using Superheroes as a medium to display the same crude humor we've seen time and time before. Simply a catalyst; a new paint job for the old Buick. Except not a Buick, more a Renault that rattles on the showroom floor. You know it'll be bad, you know you shouldn't waste your money, but you do anyways and you then kick yourself because it was just as bad as you knew it would be.
That's "Superhero Movie". Looking for satire? Stick with "Scary Movie" or "The Naked Gun", they serve just well. Atleast they have a plot.

I really liked this one. I wasn't expecting much, being worn out on spoof movies lately because of the layer of crap that's been dropped on us, the movie-going public. "Epic Movie","Date Movie","Meet the Spartans" all sucked.

That being said, the people who made this, made the latter-day Zucker- styled comedies(a la Airplane, The Naked Gun) Scary Movie 3 & 4, and not those other "Movie" movies (which are the domain of Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer).

There were parts of this movie where I laughed so hard I could barely breathe. And that happens SO rarely with comedies lately. Seriously, I laughed hard.

But, it was one of those things that will entertain but never be a classic you'd bother watching again. It was a bit forgettable in that way.

I like spoof movies, I was not shure about this one, But I bought it anyway. I found it to be funny and enguageing, well worth the view. Try it, you'll laugh too,.

If you like the scary movies, date movie, and all the other types of parody type movies, then this is a must see!!! I really like these types of movies and always know that I will get a laugh out when I watch this one.

It had some funny parts,but that was about it.I bought it because Pamela Anderson is in it.That's the only reason.She was only in it for maybe a minute or 2.If you don't collect all her movies like me,I wouldn't buy it.

I got this movie for my girl friend about a month ago for Christmas and she loved it and I loved it. Drake Bell does a great job in this movie. The best spoof movie so far.

Over the years there have been parody movies of all genres. From your horror parodies to your romance and major movie parodies it would seem as though movie makers would have hit something major with a parody completely dedicated to the Superhero genre.

This was not the case. If you enjoyed the later movies of the Scary Movie franchise there is a chance you will like this movie, but I won't guarantee it. Each joke, as it were, seems to progressively get lamer as the movie moves along. You start caring less for the movie plot and just hope the movie will end soon. This is one of the few movies I have seen in recent memory that I started staring at my watch 10 minutes into it.

I would not recommend this as a purchase to anyone, a rental at the very most, but save it for a half priced day so you can rent something better to make the pain go away.

I haven't watched the movie. It was a present for my teenage nephew. He called and said he loved the movie and sees it over and over again on his laptop. He's told me that is a funny, amusing movie, on the line of the old airplane movies, and I think Leslie Nielsen is in this movie as well

This is one of the funniest parodies I have seen in awile. A+++++++ Definitely reccommended to anyone looking for a good laugh.
