Review created: 10/22/05(updated 10/22/05)

I grew up listening to and loving AM Radio, Pop music, and Top 40. As I got a little older, I began what would be a life long love affair with glitter/glam bands from the 1970's and glam/hair bands/metal bands from the 1980's. This is where my heart is - and it will ALWAYS remain the love of my life.

I stopped listening to 99% of "new" music back in the early 1990's, after the miserable plague of grunge poisoned music and killed all the joy that went along with it.

Since then, there have only been a few bands that I have liked - but NOTHING has ever given me the same thrill as I had "back in the day". And, I had pretty much given up on current music altogether.

Then, purely by accident, I happened to hear about Supergroupies - and ALL of that changed instantly...

From the first note of Bouncin, I was hooked - IMMEDIATELY. I found the .mp3 for it online, and probably played it a million times while waiting to get the CD from Japan.

Shortly after hearing it, I saw the video for it. It was all over after that. I have been in LOVE with this band since. And, just CAN NOT get enough of them.

Quite simply,... Supergroupies are the most AMAZING band to come out in the past 15+ years. And, while this may seem only like my opinion - I'll go as far as saying that it's a FACT, etched in stone. There are just no words to describe how much I LOVE this band.

I don't know how they did it, but they have somehow managed to combine ALL of the very best elements from 1970's glitter/glam/pop and 1980's hair bands into a completely PERFECT - (actually, beyond PERFECT) - package of ultra glam/melodic pop - uniquely their own.

This CD is a MASTERPIECE of infectious, catchy, happy songs. Once you hear them, they become permanently embedded in your mind and heart.

It's IMPOSSIBLE for me to pick just one favorite - because they are ALL so GREAT. But, I'm especially partial to Bouncin, 75 (which kicks ass, sounds just like Sweet meets T.Rex, and brings me right back to my childhood), Low Blue Flame, Summertime, Say Goodbye, and What A Day. Granted, that's almost the entire CD. And, with the exception of only a handful of CD's, there aren't too many others that I like EVERY single song on.

I have tried describing their sound before, and the only thing I can kind of compare it to is a cross between Sweet in their "hey day" and Enuff Z'Nuff in their early days - only even BETTER. The vocals are very sweet, and have a Marc Bolan type style to them. And, the musicianship and talent of the rest of the band is just phenomenal and overwhelming.

Along with being very audibly pleasing - they are a treat visually, as well. They are four of the most BEAUTIFUL human beings that have ever graced this Earth. And, their image mirrors their music.

Singer, Kim Simon has the most magnetic stage presence of ANYONE I have EVER seen in my life (and I've seen A LOT of people). He exudes pure sex - and is hypnotic. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to take your eyes off of him, even for a second. He is the true the personification of a "Rock Star".

Supergroupies are self described "pop missionaries" and I couldn't agree more. They have made music worth listening to again, and brought back all the fun and glamour that has been missing for so long. Hearing and seeing them has been an almost religious like experience for me. They have single handedly converted a disenchanted, nonbeliever such as myself, into believing that magic in music still exists. That alone is nothing short of a miraculous.

They are EVERYTHING that music is meant and supposed to be.
