I got this CD the day after I watched the movie SuperBad. I thought it was hilarious and the Music CD really captivates that whole comical feeling of the movie in its entirety.

YOU WANT FUNK? YOU GOT THE FUNK!!Review created: 09/07/08

) First of all, only 2 disappointments : the song "Superbad" by James Brown is not on here - but then I don't recall it being in the movie either. The other minor letdown is that "Panama" by Van Halen is also not on the soundtrack, even though it is in the film. That's ok, I have the "1984" album by Van Halen, and "Panama" is on that one.
So what's good about this cd? Lots of funk instrumentals which were recorded for the movie by funk musicians who have been around a long time including Bootsy Collins, who played bass for James Brown and either Parliament or Funkadelic (or both?)
There are also some classic tracks including "Soul Finger" (my favorite on the cd) by the Bar-Kays. This tune was featured in an incredibly funny comedy called "Spies Like Us" staring Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd - If you haven't seen that one you really gotta! Curtis Mayfield is also on the "Superbad" soundtrack.
Lotsa goood funkin' bass, keyboards, drums, and etc. If you like funk, you'll dig this album.
