Tomatoes, walnuts, yogurt, salmon, and pumpkin are all among 14 foods that are packed with nutrients and other radically healthy stuff. Author Steven G. Pratt penned this book after some of his patients took a sudden, extraordinary upswing in their condition after going on a diet containing these superfoods. The author, whose theory is that this group of foods are remarkably superior to other foods, believes that the foods actually change the body's biochemistry actually ward off a number of diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's. Each chapter offers a thorough discussion and nutritional analysis of the 14 superfoods. The book also provides recipes (provided by Chef Michael Stroot of the Golden Door Spa) and simple suggestions for how to build them into one's regular nutritional routine.
