Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64, 1999)

What a great concept! Can't decide which Nintendo mascot is the best? Why not duke it out for the title? And that's exactly what this game is all about. Super Smash Bros. was released in April 1999 for the Nintendo 64. You could choose from 12 popular Nintendo characters, all of which use moves they are known for to fight other Nintendo characters. For example, Mario can shoot fireballs, and Kirby can copy abilities. Nintendo took a risk by releasing this game, and it payed off, making Super Smash Bros. one of the most popular N64 games. I would only recommend this game if you have other people to play against. While the 1 Player Mode is fun, the Multi-Player modes are what really makes this game shine.

A good game however after you have played it for a little while it gets old quickly and there is almost no replay value.
Super Mario Strikers is a solid sports title for younglings. Its fun and its probably the perfect difficulty for them. The colorful graphics will attract them and they will stay for the YOU GUESSED IT! colorful graphics!
Though for anyone over the age of 10 this is not that great of a game. Its defenitely fun and the graphics are solid but unfortunately there just isnt enough of it. You can complete the game in 5-6 hours and there are hardly any unlockables. The character and stadium selection is very limited, the powerups start out as cool but just get annoying after a while. The graphics are actually very nice. The animations are splendid and the overall look of the game is very nice though im not a big fan of the clothes some of our characters are wearing.

The sounds are pretty traditional mario affair and to the games credit they are very nice. The game hasnt really had that big of a pricedrop yet and the lack of unlockables really kills any possible replay value in this game. Unfortunately this game could have been a great title for everyone but unfortunately due to the lack of extras the game can only be classified as a rental for most people.

If you are ever bored and need something to do, BUY A N64. The main reason is becuase Super Smash Bros. It is such a fun game. Once you and your friends sit down and starting playing it you will only get up to go to the bathroom. Mabey not even then.

Super Smash Bros. is one of the greatest games ever made by Nintendo...in my opinion. After not having played this game in several years, a couple of friends of mine began playing this game. And even though there are only several moves one can do and there are only a couple of good boards, the competition this game creates is fantastic. I want to emphasize that you should not buy this game if you plan on playing the one player mode extensively. It is in no way worth it for that. But if you have several friends who you think would want to play this game, then stop thinking and just get it. It will be well worth it then. Although this game was broken down and revamped for the Gamecube system in the form of Melee. There is something about the simplicity of this game that makes it so great. Just like many video game series, the first game is usually the best. Of course there are several series who beg to differ. I really believe this is a better game. Additionally, the more you play with the same or different people you begin to develop a style and you attain a sole character that becomes your trademark. In time, you get better without even knowing it, and this game just keeps getting funner and funner. So think hard. And if you buy this game...enjoy the crap out of it.

Every couple of years the gaming industry is pushed forward into new limits by a game that allows gamers to experience the true meaning of "fun". Super Smash Bros. is that game. Fighting with your favorite nintendo characters without the innapropriate blood and gore that comes along with fighting games, enjoying the screen layout, easy controls, interactive multiplayer levels, and an extensive story mode makes this game one the all-time best games ever for any system out there. Enough said.

This is my all time favorite game for my Nintendo 64 and person who said that its too short, beat it with all of the characters and then say that its too short. This game is one of the best I've ever played. Each character has its own unique advantages and disadvantages. This game kept me busy for hours on end with my nintend 64 and is the funnest game for the 64. Must Buy!!

I bought this as a gift for my son before his surgery. I like that it can handle up to four players at a time...my sons and their friends "team" play so no one is sitting out. It is all about "smashing" people, but the illustartions are definitely "cartoon" and not realistic violence. It does take some skill, and my boys are "training" me on it!

Super Smash Bros. is so much fun and can be challenging!

This game is fun for all family members!

This is a truely awesome game that combines a lot of classic characters and lets them use their own powers or abilities from their own games. For example, this game features the character Link from the legend of zelda series and he can use his sword to fight off enimies. There are many more powers that are both normal and magic but for those who haven't played this game yet, I don't want to give anything away. This game also has an awesome multiplayer system which lets up to four players fight against eachother, or just against other computer players.

From a huge video game lover this is truely one of the greatest n64 games ever created!

My 4 year old played this game at a friends house and it is all that he could talk about. After watching him play, I could see why!! Extremely fun, challenging and wonderful for eye hand coordination for ANY age!!

I bought the Super Smash Bros. game for Nintendo 64 a few months ago and my son and husband have a ball playing all the different stages of the game. They have no complaints about the game, but I do think i paid a little too much for such a limited game. I guess it costs more due to the fact that it's an older game and probably will go up in value as long as it's kept in good shape. It's user friendly too.

i played this when it first came out for the n64 a long time ago and i loved it then just like i love it now. its single player is sad but its multiplayer is amazing as well as its replay value because of multiplayer. havig 4 random nintendo characters trying to knock each other off of a random platform with a myriad of fun attacks is great fun with a few friends. when i sold my first n64 i kept this game in case i ever bought another one i loved it so much. now that i am buying another one i saw some bad reviews and had to set them straight.

SUPER SMASH BROS GAMEPLAY GUIDE

I absolutely love this game. As soon as I borrowed this game from a friend, I had to go out and buy one. The more I played the game, the more I fell in love with not only all the characters, but their moves. Each character is equipped with smash moves that will all you (the gamer) to boast about what you've done to your friend (in the game of course) to he or she over dinner or lunch or a get-together. You'll find yourself using your favorite characters most of the time, but then sway away to use other characters out of interest, improvement, and just boredom. This game will prepare you for the not only Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Gamecube, but also for the up and coming Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. If you've never played this game before, you should stop what you're doing and find one somewhere. I will almost guarantee that you'll be hooked on this game. Not that staying up late or spending long hours playing a game with a bunch of friends is a bad thing, but it will be a likely result. The only negative aspect of this game I can think of is the throwing. Some people only throw the entire game, which takes away from the quality of the moves that can be performed, either through a combination of moves or just by performing a power or smash hit. Once you learn how to juggle, this will open your eyes to even more hours of gameplay. I hope this helps if you've never played this or if you do agree to what i've mentioned here.

I bought this game because I played it as a kid. I love it just as much as I did when I was a kid. Multiplayer kicks ass too! The one thing that sucks is that I have to wait til December to get Super Smash Bros Brawl for my Wii!

I think this game is a classic Nintendo game, and any real gamer should own a copy of it. It has great game play, and will keep you entertained for hours. It's also very fun to play with friends. The only thing I dislike about it is how hard it can be to find. Before I looked on eBay, I looked all around at used game stores and none of them were carrying it, or if they were it was for an outrageous price. Also, I don't like the fact that if you haven't really played the game before, it can be tough to defeat otehr people. You just have to learn your way through it. I decided to buy it because of all the great things about it, and I want to keep the N64 alive.

my grandson always enjoys checking out the games on ebay when he visits,of course granny is going to buy. we found this one here that he has wanted for some time and we used the buy now option and the man that sold us this item accidently pulled the wrong game but hey no problem the name on the games were very closely related, the seller made it right and i mean he was quit to respond, as a result i would always be a customer because he does care how he makes the buyer feel. i also know that ebay is very strong about how sellers sell their items and they do protect the buyers, no wonder ebay is very popular.
