Super Mario World (Super Nintendo, 1990)

This is by far the best Mario game in the series. The originality of the levels and the added abilities make this one stand out. The addition of Yoshi takes this game to a different level, something that Super Mario 3 did to the series with the tail.

The levels are so very different from other Mario games, that they are so much fun to play. The new super cape really opens the levels up which adds to the secrets that can be found. Some of the coolest levels in the game are in the forest levels, which have so many secrets, it will take you forever to get through them. The ghost houses are full of secret passages and are extremely challenging especially in later levels.

Yoshi adds an all new dimension to the game, he allows you to rid the enemies by eating them. The great part is every enemy you eat counts as a coin! Not only that but if Yoshi eats different colored shells he gains different abilities.

If you are up for one heck of a challenge, go ahead and pick up this game! It is the best in the series!

I played this game while my children were at school back in the 80s and I loved it then and I love it now! They are grown and they still love to play it. Now they call it RETRO and its still a classic game full of fun!

This is one of my favorite games of all time! It's the first video game I ever owned and it never gets old. I still sit down and play it to this day and am never bored with it or tired of playing it. It's truly a classic!

If you REAAALLLYY enjoy Super Mario games....you will LOVE this game. I remember first getting this game and it opened up a new adventure and new life in me. So much excitement, so much difference from it's last counterpart Super Mario bros. 3. The bosses, the levels, the game play all unique. Easily the best Mario game ever produced. Tons of secrets to find. Tons of levels for extended game play.

I remember spending hours playing this game as a child, finding all the secrets, and I recently purchased a SNES because I saw this. This is without a doubt my favorite game ever. It if always fun to find all the secret paths and other hidden items.

I bought this item bcus the price was good and it was a great game.The only thing I dislike was that when i recieved the game i had to cleen it before I could play it.They did not say anything about cleaning in the item description.

I love it. It brings back so many good memories. I will never lose the game again. I want to play it all day. This is one of the greatest games in history.

This is probably my favorite game of all time. I've owned it for... what? 20 years now? and its STILL fun to play. its not too difficult to get to bowser and beat the game, so its good for kids, but there are secret levels that beget more secret levels. i have yet to make it though all the special star levels, i think i reached 96 out of the 100 total stages, so if you're a completionist its quite the challenge.

plus...the music! ahhhh, the happiest and most catchy melodies ever created for a videogame. i love that music.

buying super nintendo is worth it just for this game. the console and cartridges are cheap now, it would be a good beginners system and game for young children. you dont have to worry about them loosing tiny memory cards or scratching CDs.

There is 2 different copies of Super mario World out there in the world. The 1 that came with the system & the 1 that was a reproduction. This is how you tell the difference. The original copy is the darker more royal blue. Mario on Yoshi is also bigger. As well if you look on the top of all Super nintendo games they used smaller writing from left to right on other games.

The original versions has big writing on label square in the middle. The reproduction is the lighter teal. With Mario & Yoshi smaller on label.

Either way you get it. Still 1 of my all time favorites to play!!!

Classic game.. Oh my goodness if you have never ever played this game play it.
Its started on SNES=Super Nintendo.
Its available on the gameboy advance and gameboy advance SP....

Pros
+ Continues the adventures of Mario & adds some new twists.
+ Yoshi enters the mushroom kingdom and becomes Mario's greatest partner.
+ Still has great boss battles & a variety of levels to explore.

Cons
- No raccoon suit & cape is hard to control at times.
- Doesn't feel as epic as Super Mario Bros. 3.

Comments
Super Mario continues the epic battle against Bowser & company in this adventure. There is a bit more complexity to learning how to use the cape & playing with Yoshi but the formula is pretty much the same fun time as previous installments.

Must have for any fan of Nintendo or Mario games.

Easily one of the greated games of my childhood, as well as one of the greatest games of all time. Join the fun as you journey around with Mario and Luigi (personally I preferred Luigi) on your quest to save the Princess! Meet up with one of the series most loveable characters, Yoshi! You'll need his help, as well as all the fireballs, mushrooms, and capes you can to defeat that big baddy Bowser! A great game for children and people of all ages.

I played Super Mario World when it was first released. It was so much fun. I think I am going to go play it again right now!

Another Mario game which again is awesome! The game play is great and they did a great job in putting the map like set up of the old Mario games in with the new style of the Super Nintendo! Excellent game! A must have for any Super Nintendo owner or Mario Fan!

This was the last game in the series that got "a million times better than the last one!" for me. Once the series hit 3d, it went downhill as far as I'm concerned. SMB3 was superb, and this took it even one step beyond THAT.

This is the Best Mario Game created Ever. G4's own Filter agrees with this statement. This game starts off easy, so that the players can figure out the controls. This game is simple enough to save the princess. It takes about a half an hour, but to find all the secrets, and to defeat the star road, does take time, and is very challenging. After defeating the star roads. The pipe plants turn to oranges, and the turtles turn into mario imitators. If you buy the New Super Mario Brothers released for the DS, you have to try this one. I played ever Mario game out there, and I cannot find one better. All Stars is a good Mario title, because it includes the 4 games. This one is a stand alone, and it is worth your time, and your money.

Beat this game over 50 times and every time I do...I go back for more.if you like Mario games play this one.one thing I can say like all video games it start's out easy and get's ruff(hard) as you go along. you can do it :)

AMAZING GAME!!!!!!!! One of the best classic Nintendo games EVER created. It's huge, with over 120 levels. GREAT FUN!
