Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Super Nintendo)

well to start off, i would just like to say i cant believe no one has reveiewed this game yet. this game has a huge cult following. and this is not only the greatest mario gam of all time, but the grreatest rpg of all time.
if you have ever played the game paper mario for N64, then this is the same idea. becuase paper mario is the sequel to this game. and we all know how great paper mario was, well its that plus even better.

graphics- if you didnt have the sysem and didnt see the controller you would sware its a N64 game, the graphics are without a dout they are the best for snes.
gameplay-the gameplay is similar to the 2 mario & luig superstar sagas game for gameboy and ds, because they are a spin-off of the same formula of this game. and the gameplay is fabulous. controlls are tight and never lag behind.
story- well its a mario game; princess gets kidnapped and you have to save her.
replay value- fantastic replay value. this game is rather long which is a good thing since this game is a complete masterpeice.
price- the game is rather exspensive for a snes game. you can get it with just the game. that runs about $25. i got it for $45 with a manuel.
overall- 10/10

in conclusion this a must have for any nintendo fanboy, mario fanboy, or anyone that enjoys nice wuality old school gaming. this game is truly one of the greatest games of all time and i suggest you go bid on a copy right now!and please leave feedback as to if this revieew is helpful or not.thank you!

This was one of my all time favorite RPGS and games for the SNES. It has some very well balanced combat, a fun, entrancing story and characters we all know and love (As well as some new faces to keep the game interesting).
All in all, an awsome title that I highly reccomend.

Great video game basis, considering it is the first true RPG. I have not personally played this as it was purchased for a father's day gift. The man is an avid collector of all video game parafanala and owns all systems so if he says it rules than it does.

an amazing escape from the regular mario games. this is a great rpg and any fan of final fantasy would love it. also mario fans would love it. it's hard to not get sucked into this game..

gameplay is awesome. a lot of characters in game to choose from. good storyline and awesome battles and abilities.

Square Enix takes you on yet another adventure, this time with the help of the mushroom kingdom. Mario takes the role of saving the princess yet again in a new role playing style. 3-D graphics and interactive role playing keep you locked into this adventure. This will be one of the greatest mario games you have ever played. Even if you are not a fan of role-playing games, you will find many things to make you think different. Truly a must play for all gamers young and old.

This game is packed ton of features. The main story has plenty in it to keep you occupied for hours. For additional fun, there are loads of mini-games to distract you from the hassle of saving the princess once again. Hidden inside the game are references to other video game characters such as Link, Samus, and the original super mario.

Some of the down sides of this game include the tedious controls. The new 3-D exploration is a bit touchy. Several missions require you to be very accurate with jumps and the controls make it quite frustrating. The game at time can seem quite linear. Adding to its linear story line, it is very short. For an RPG, it is one of the shortest. It can easily be completed in a few hours, considering you don't spent a lot of time leveling up or doing most of the side missions or mini-games.

The game is worth playing. It is a sure 5 out of 5. However, I just wish that there was more of it to play. The sequel is supposedly Paper Mario for the N64, but I just can't accept that fact and will think to myself that it ended with that game. Super Mario Rpg is worth the purchase. It is getting more and more expensive, so I would pick a copy now before it's too late.

If you love Mario, and love RPG's, then you'll love this game! 5 characters, and 2 of which or Princess Toadstool, and King Bowser! What could've possibly happened that would make Bowser join you?? Guess you'll have to play to find out!

One of the best console RPG's in existence. If you can find a good copy of this and have a Super Nintendo give it a run through. Well worth it.

Super Mario RPG is a timeless classic. Originally released on May 13'th 1996, the game was an instant success--how could it not be, combining talent from both Nintendo Software and Squaresoft.
For those looking for a laid back and fun RPG, this is an excellent choice. It offers about 30 hours of entirely fun game play, with various other side quests and mini games to complete. The story is interesting, well written and full of interesting characters and some good humor. The combat system is interesting, in that unlike most RPG's, Super Mario RPG will have the players timing their attacks to make them more effective. The music is excellent, and for 1996, the graphics are top notch. Even today, the game still looks impressive.
This game is highly recommended, and considered to be one of the finest RPG's on the Super Nintendo.

I couldn't have asked for better care in sending this game. Not only that but the battery pack still saves just fine and the game plays smooth.

This is a Wonderful game for RPG,Mario, and Nintendo Fanboys Overall. It has the Same Gameplay as Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga and Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. A Must have for all SNES Owners. This game will bring out the full Greatness of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is a Bit Pricy of a game for SNES, but it is worth it. it is usually bought for 25$ but i got was lucky. I got mine for a meer $5.
Graphics: 10/10 They bring out the greatness of the SNES.
Gameplay: Much like other games like Paper Mario, a Must have. P.S. You save Princess Peach (Or Toadstool for older players) as usual. But in this game you team up with Bowser.

Super Mario RPG is easily the best mario game ever created. It had amazing graphics for its time, but never caught on with the general public....until now... There are very few left today, but i have personally beat this game no less than 25 times and it has still never gotten old. I think every mario fan needs a copy of this game if they dont already have a copy. AN AMAZINGLY FUN RPG WITH MARIO!!!! EVERYONE WHO BUYS THIS GAME WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!!!!

it was all good the game works good guy to do business with it just took a while to receive the game but i knew it was going to get to me sooner or later. because i read previous reviews and it seemed that this guy was trust worthy

Super Mario RPG is a true classic. Emphasizing simple turnbased play with a unique Mario related story Super Mario RPG has layed the ground work for the many Paper Mario games that have been released. For those of you who have never heard of Super Mario RPG this is the game that started it all and is an awsome entry level RPG that is even quite fun and unique for veteran RPG players. The plot revolves around a mysterious enemy from beyond the Mushroom Kingdom who threatens the entire world Mario knows. Mario then joins forces with his friends some old some new and one unexpected ally, in order to batlle this new enemy and save the world and its dreams. Overall Super Mario Rpg is a great game for most ages and all kinds of gamers and thats why I bought it and recomend it.

i consider myself whats called a nastalgic gamer so i bought this game cuz i had it when it first came out i like it cuz its a twist on the mario genre no side scrolling, i read some of the other reviews and i disagree that its the greatest rpg of all time, that honor goes to the zelda series, but it ranks right up there with that, for a snes game the graphic were astounding as was the storyline, and its probably the only game out there where you can like all the characters, even wimpy little mallow

The Super Mario RPG Cartridge was missing a smell metal peice and as a result, the game does not work.

This game is a great game, and I was happy I was able to get a hold of it. I played the game, already beat it, and I would say that I had a lot of fun with it. However, as good as it might have been, the cost I think was a bit high more my satisfaction. To pay $50 for an old used game that was beaten within a few days is a bit much, but I guess that's expected from a classic game that is not easy to come by nowadays. However, I was happy I was able to get a hold of the game, and I'm glad I purchased this item from the seller.

I bought this game as a Valentine's day gift for my husband because he had been talking about how much he wanted the game and how rare it is. He loves that it is an RPG and it features Mario! Some parts of the game may be difficult and the fact that you cannot go beyond level thirty frustrates him but he says it is a great game and anyone who likes RPGs should definitely try this game out.

This game was released four months prior to one of Nintendo's greatest system, the N64. SMRPG wan't given a fighting chance to gain popularity among the American people.

Therefore, Super Mario is hardly ever mentioned when people converse nostalgically about SNES games.

An big hype was made about Donkey Kong Country's fully rendered graphics and ACM. DKC is fully deserving of such praise, but when the game that was finally released that wasn't a part of the DKC series and obtained the ACM technology, Mario's final appearance on the SNES came out with a whine.

Because of such carelessness of Nintendo developers, many players do not know the Magic of Super Mario RPG.

I am one of those who did not know of such a game until eight years after it's release. Sure, I heard about Super Mario World, Zelda, and Donkey Kong Country as I was growing up, but I was a victim of the N64's engaging power.

Once I ordered it from eBay, I experienced the missing link; the Mario game that ended the SNES legacy and that opened the frontier to the (I must admit) awesome Nintendo 64.

If you have not played SMRPG, please do not go what I went through. For your sake, buy it now. For a mere $50 a day (for one day), you can finally fulfill the duty of a player, and revive the dead game, Super Mario RPG.

This is one of the best role playing games I have played yet. I especially like the story line. I think that anyone who would take a chance on this game would definatly get their money's worth. It is one of my most often played games.
