Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Mario has been ever since the 80's been Nintendo's "go to guy" when they needed sales. The mascot, the staple of one giant among giants in the gaming industry.
I'd have to say that the reviews I'd read and heard from other sources tend to about spot on. Case in point, this is the 1st Mario game if not game in general to have a realistic gravity effect. This is why Mario Galaxy gets a 4/5 from me.

Storyline - 3/5
The story is pretty much what you have seen before in the Mario franchise.The story is the only bad thing about this game because we've seen the same thing many times.The story mimics that of what we're already been feed like Mario 64. Mario just heads to Peach's castle after a sent invitation to a night festival and Bowser invades by pulling the princess's castle and taken into other space. Actually now that I think about it, it seems like the exact same story as Paper Mario for the 64. A homage maybe back to the "Sorry, but your princess in is another castle"

Gameplay + Control - 4/5
This is a very close 5/5 believe me. The graphics are breathtaking, the game is simply glorious. The 360 degrees of freedom that your allowed to navigate with the elegancy of the free roaming camera angels. The different suits Mario changes in and out of work seamlessly with easy transaction.

Controlling Mario can be a little hard at initially, if you are not experienced with his games, but it won't take long to get a hang on the controls. Everything is sweet and straightforward, whatever screen your on if it be the main screen or the HUD, the controls are simple.The + and - buttons serve the same purpose, basically they are the start button. The Direction Pad lets you look around in directions (Along with a first person view), but there is always the C button to make the camera look in the direction Mario is facing.

Replay Value - 5/5
Their’s about 30 to 40 hours of game time, included in that are some 2-D scrolling aspects along with the option to collect all the 100+ stars just like in Mario 64, even though it only takes about 60 to finish the game. There is a two player mode, along with a “Trial Galaxies".

Music - 4/5
The in game music is soothing at times and hard on the ears. The music helps set the mood for the level, or even for a power-up you have just obtained. It can range from serene, to chaotic, and to dark. Not to mention the classic Mario Bros songs you will hear, which will no doubt give you the feeling of nostalgia.

The replay value is quite high until you get to the point of beating the game over and over again. If only Nintendo had a way to add extra content to their games threw downloads, the possibilities for this would be almost endless, but once again Nintendo delivers a great game with Mario in it (Well, till Smash Bros. Brawl is out)

Its a good game, im just not used to the wii controls yet. Seems like the best game so far in the series.

I love the game's music. Also there’s a great deal of diversity throughout Super Mario Galaxy’s level design that it’s hard not to get excited when a new area opens, knowing that there’s a whole new set of puzzles and obstacles designed around the theme of the level.
One good/bad thing, I found it not very addicting.

everything as one can expect...highly recommended...worth every cent and minute too. Audio was not repetatived at all and game playing was easy to learn and fun to use. Graphic was the best wii game came up with...

My wife love it because its easy to play and understand. I hate it just because she never let me play lol.

The graphics are excellent. My 8 year old can play it. It is entertaining and fun. You never know what is at the next level but the obstacles get a little harder each time. Try it, you will like it.

This game is the game that truly makes the wii shine!!! Read the reviews online and expect even more from the game when you play it. Awesome game-play...Awesome graphics (for the wii) Awesome Awesome Awesome. This game is by far the best Mario game yet.

I like this game. As always Mario delivers with fun and inventive worlds! Yet they all have that familiarity, starting with the original Mario Bros from back when, which allows you to start playing and get through a level without taking a college course in the subject.
However, this version of the classic, is based on "outer space" which allows you to fly to other planets where you run around the planet, literally! You are running upside down at times which can give you vertigo and become almost annoying.
I love the idea of visting planets and but when you are on the planet they should have made it so you went "into" that world. Instead of running around outer planet (if that makes sense). For example, earth is round but if we go to China, we are not upside down! In this game, you would be!
Love the Bee Mario - so cute and fuzzy.
I say wait to buy this game when it is not so "hot" and pay half the price! For now, if you need you "Mario" fix - Go MARIO CART!

Very well done. Controls work well enough so you don't spend much time learning them.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a good casual game for the Wii.

I bought this game for my wife because she loves Mario for the N64. I didn't play it for the first 2 weeks we had it because I wasn't all that interested in it. After watching my wife play it I realized how innovative and fun it looked and started playing it myself.

The gameplay is incredible! The new controls, the different Marios that you can become, the concept of traveling between galaxies...It is a very fun game. I love their use of the Wii controllers and it has me excited to try out some other games that were on my favorites list in past consoles to see how they have innovated with the Wii.

I recommend this game to anyone.

Few things in life are more noble than collecting stars. Perhaps single handedly saving the Alamo. Perhaps getting an autograph from Tom Hanks. Perhaps learning how to write letters in the sky with airplanes, but even still the only words you'd be writing in that white cloudy font would "Delicious" because that is what Italian food is, and Mario is Italian, and you should buy this game for as cheap as possible using half.com. Not because it isn't worth it's weight in gasoline, but because the more money you spend, the less you have to pay off those pilot lesson loans. I bet you haven't learned anything!

I love this game because the graphics are amazing! You can go to numerous worlds! It's fun to collect all the stars.Mario can turn into six different forms.I decided to buy this game because I tried it at Gamestop and loved it!

This guy never sent my game and then two weeks later he told me that he didn't ake paypal and his payment clearly stated that he did. He called me rude and told me to forget about the game because i wasn't going to get it. He told me that he couldn't get into his paypal account and he wasn't going to give me my money back. I had to go through paypal to get my money back and I think he did this alot because he would take your money from paypal and then email and say he doesn't take paypal send me a money order. I think he was getting double what he was asking.

Pros

-- Uses the Wii remote and nunchuck
-- Mario goes to different planets and galaxies
-- You can jump from one tiny planet to another if they're close enough
-- Not as hard to get stars like in Super Mario Sunshine
-- Awesome graphics
-- New character: Rosalina
-- A second player with a Wii remote can help you in your adventure

Cons

-- The new controls take some getting used to, like shaking the remote
-- There is no button to automatically focus the camera in front of Mario
-- If you don't have a second player, sometimes you're at a disadvantage
-- Not enough story telling between getting power stars
-- Sometimes you have to play with Mario being upside-down

Purchased game on the "want" by my children. They are having a great time with it. They are really enjoying the graphic's. They are "Flying" through it. They would recommend it to all their friends.

This game is a title for the wii that will be a game to remember for years to come. It is a take on one of the classics that we all know and love where you have to rescue the beautiful princess peach from the evil bowser with one huge twist. You have to travel through the galaxy to find her and face many foes with interesting ways of getting you finished. You also get to fly from planet to planet with the help of lumas, which are little stars that are the friend of a new character rosalina. This game offers a lot of excitement and fun and can even be played with two people at once, so i highly recommend Super Mario Galaxy for the wii to anyone who enjoys a good time!
