Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Mario has been ever since the 80's been Nintendo's "go to guy" when they needed sales. The mascot, the staple of one giant among giants in the gaming industry.
I'd have to say that the reviews I'd read and heard from other sources tend to about spot on. Case in point, this is the 1st Mario game if not game in general to have a realistic gravity effect. This is why Mario Galaxy gets a 4/5 from me.

Storyline - 3/5
The story is pretty much what you have seen before in the Mario franchise.The story is the only bad thing about this game because we've seen the same thing many times.The story mimics that of what we're already been feed like Mario 64. Mario just heads to Peach's castle after a sent invitation to a night festival and Bowser invades by pulling the princess's castle and taken into other space. Actually now that I think about it, it seems like the exact same story as Paper Mario for the 64. A homage maybe back to the "Sorry, but your princess in is another castle"

Gameplay + Control - 4/5
This is a very close 5/5 believe me. The graphics are breathtaking, the game is simply glorious. The 360 degrees of freedom that your allowed to navigate with the elegancy of the free roaming camera angels. The different suits Mario changes in and out of work seamlessly with easy transaction.

Controlling Mario can be a little hard at initially, if you are not experienced with his games, but it won't take long to get a hang on the controls. Everything is sweet and straightforward, whatever screen your on if it be the main screen or the HUD, the controls are simple.The + and - buttons serve the same purpose, basically they are the start button. The Direction Pad lets you look around in directions (Along with a first person view), but there is always the C button to make the camera look in the direction Mario is facing.

Replay Value - 5/5
Their’s about 30 to 40 hours of game time, included in that are some 2-D scrolling aspects along with the option to collect all the 100+ stars just like in Mario 64, even though it only takes about 60 to finish the game. There is a two player mode, along with a “Trial Galaxies".

Music - 4/5
The in game music is soothing at times and hard on the ears. The music helps set the mood for the level, or even for a power-up you have just obtained. It can range from serene, to chaotic, and to dark. Not to mention the classic Mario Bros songs you will hear, which will no doubt give you the feeling of nostalgia.

The replay value is quite high until you get to the point of beating the game over and over again. If only Nintendo had a way to add extra content to their games threw downloads, the possibilities for this would be almost endless, but once again Nintendo delivers a great game with Mario in it (Well, till Smash Bros. Brawl is out)

Great game...I love it as a 41 year old and so do my 4 and 5 year olds. Very addicting...when you finish one section, a new one opens so it's hard to quit. There is lots of stuff to find so it'll take a while to get through the whole thing. We've been playing it for 2 months and are only halfway done.

Perfect condition, and keeps going and going. It looks and works like brand new. Shipped quicker than expected. I will definitely buy more games from this user. I tried to write a review long before now, but I was having trouble confirming my e-mail to get signed on, but that is now resolved.

It is a fun game. It can be a little tedious at times though. But it is very well made! The Graphics are amazing!!! You defy gravity as Mario romes about his universe.

I absolutly couldn't be more please with the way this trasaction transpired. My nephewed stayed a week with me this summer, and all he could talk about was "SUPER MARIO GALAXY!" He was so good during his stay, that I told him if we could find the game at a good price on eBay, I would try to win it for him.

We found the seller we wanted to buy from and placed our bid. However, it wasn't long before we were in a bidding war. We talked about how much I was willing to spend, and left it at that. Before we went to bed that night, the bidding went over our budget. My nephew never complained, although I knew he was extremely disappointed. The auction was set to end at 3am. I decided that he deserved his little prize, so I set my alarm and won the game! He was ecstatic to say the least! I paid for the game and had it mail to his home. My sister said that when the mail person delivered his game it was like the 4th of July at their home. It was a wonderful experience, and one I'm sure he won't forget.

I strongly recommend this seller, and I applaud eBay for setting up such a wonderful service.

This game is awesome. The graphics are excellent, and there are tons of levels to go through which allows the game to not get boring quickly.
Best Mario game so far in my opinion.

My son is turning 7 and i am 32. my son and i just love this game, it is soooo much fun!!! It is challenging and fun at the same time. It's a blast opening new galaxies and figuring out how to get through them. Challenging and addicting.

it is an all around good game and great game that children can play that isnt to violent!It kinda goes back to the old school mario with a 21st centry kind of twist! but all and all this is a reall great game!

If you liked Mario 64 you will love Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario Galaxy is like the sequel to Mario 64. The Graphics are better, and there are many, many more adventures to explore with Super Mario Galaxy. The Wiimote and NunChuk are very easy to use in this game. You use the NunChuk to move Mario and everything else, like to jump, you use the Wiimote. Nintendo has gotten very far with their games and has improved a lot. From 2D to 3D, from t.v. to h.d. Nintendo has done it again by creating another great game.

Super Mario Galaxy has taken the series of Mario games Nintendo has produced to a whole new level, or should I say, galaxy.

With stunning graphics and amazing user control, S.M.G (as I will refer to it from here on out) is by far one of the best games I have played in a while. At first, I was confused by the user manipulation, as I was getting dizzy watching Mario go in 3D movement on astroids and other planets. If you Mario fans can recall Super Mario 64, this was definitely a remake, but an excellent one none the less, of that game.

SMG has given the player the ability to enjoy a game that does have difficult passages, some of which can be EXTREMELY frustrating and hard to bypass. The game is designed to challenge the player unlike other Mario games could not; for example, using the Wii remote to point and pull objects towards Mario, or to do random things to the Mario or Luigi character.

The best part, I believe, is the length of the game. You are left with numerous amounts of challenges, levels, and the best part being that in order to actually beat the game fully, you must complete it with not only the Mario character, but also Luigi.

You must play the game for yourself to truly understand how much has been packed into this one CD. By far, I have enjoyed this game more than I can convey, and I am still working through it to complete every task the programmers set up for me. By all means, I would recommend this game to any Nintendo Wii owner.

This is an unbelievable game if you are a fan of the Mario franchise.
There are so many levels, each with their own unique styles that it will give you hundreds of hours of gameplay.
Sometimes the camera is a bit annoying and can get in the way, but that is about the only negative of this game.
Mario can skate, swim, fly, "spring" and interact with most objects in each level.
The storyline is ok, but that's not why you're playing it anyway.
The Wii controls take a bit getting used to, but after a while it almost feels natural. You need the nunchuck for this game.

The story is not that important in the game so i am not going to talk about it. But it is not bad but predictable to Mario lovers. The graphics are what i care about. You get a breathtaking 360 degrees of freedom that your allowed to navigate through the gorgeous landscape but you have some bit falls here and there.
Trying to move Mario is another thing you get disoriented in the beginning but you will get the hang of it soon. You have a question of what you can do, then there is a pop up bubble that tells you. Sweet right. Also I love the game's music.

Medal of Honor has got to be one of the coolest games for wii. There is a point in the game where you pick up a bazooka, cock the wii-mote over your shoulder and aim and fire that way. darn cool game.

This is a great game. It's taken the old Mario Bros. idea and taken it to Magictown. It's great for many ages, I would think, although some of the parts can be pretty difficult, which is great for me. The music is fun, the gameplay constantly changes, which keeps it interesting. I highly recommend.

This game, like Mario64 and Super Mario World and Super Mario 3, represents what is good about gaming. Shigeru Miyamoto has reinvented Mario again for the Wii. Although Mario's moves are mostly still familiar from Mario64, the gameplay is totally new. It reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie in some aspects, and the biggest difference of course is the "planet" aspect of the game..."down" does not always mean towards the bottom of the TV, and sometimes a planet is so small that Mario looks like he's running on a beach ball!

It's really fun and very addicting. You won't waste your money here.
