Super Mario Galaxy (Wii, 2007)

Super Mario Galaxy is my new favorite in the Mario series. Breathtaking sorroundings, easy gameplay, jumping from one planet to another is just awesome. Here are a couple of reasons you should buy this amazing game

Story- Mario storyline has always been the same... Oh no mario, the princess has been kidnapped. . . oh no mario, the princess has been kidnapped and etc. Don't expect anything new from the latest installment in the mario franchise, but then again what other storyline do Mario games need?

Gameplay- The wide open spaces and starry skies add to the freedom you have in this game. 2 player gameplay was somewhat dissapointing when I played with one of my friends. The first player controls mario's actions and the other just points their remote at the screen and blasts enemies with small meteorites that are picked up from just about everywhere. There are different suits that you can acquire to give mario different new abilities never seen before. There are hours of fun awaiting those trying to beat the game and a challenge to collect all 100 stars for a true Mario fan. Being able to run around a planet in any direction any time you want is kind of hard to get used to, but adds more depth to the game.

Controls- I personally thought the controls were easy to get accostumed to. Some younger children might have trouble controlling mario's actions if they've never touched one of the older games. Playing with the Wii remote is a breeze and the second player's controls are even easier (although I don't recommend buying this game for the 2 player action). In short, if you've played other Mario games the controls aren't going to be much newer to you.

Graphics- The graphics on this game are breathtaking. Anyone would be amazed the work that Nintendo put into creating such detailed environments.

Music- There's not much new to this section of the game. The music can range from soft and gentle, to chaotic and frantic. The sounds are pretty much the same as any other Mario game made before this one, but still offer great entertainment. The music helps add to the mood of that point in the story also.

Ages- This game is recommended for all ages. It offers a challenge for children and adults alike. I've seen all ages play and enjoy this game. It has something for everyone.

So I give this game a 5/5. It deserves nothing lower. There isn't much not to like about Super Mario Galaxy. It's great for all ages and the graphics are great. A must have for anyone who owns a wii!!! (Once again I warn you. . . DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR THE OPTION OF PLAYING WITH 2 PLAYERS, IT'S NOT WORTH IT)
