Still Holding Its Own

When the Super Nintendo first came out, this game became an instant hit. It brought a lot of new life to the Mario series. We met new features and new characters; but, was this game good enough to be revitalized for the GBA? In a simply answer, yes. Anyone who played the Mario games growing up will jump at the chance to get this game. It's the exact way it was when it was first released. This game is fun because in many ways, it follows the formula from Super Marios Bros. 3. Mario has a variety of power-ups and you can sort of pick and choose where to go to on the world map. Plus, there are hidden levels to find. There's a lot to complete in this game and the journey is definitely fun. As I said, this game has gone unchanged - the sound, the graphics, the gameplay are all the same. The lack of change, though, is a good thing because many of us long for the nostalgia of playing games we played when we were younger. I recommend this game for anyone who has played it and yearns for another go, as well as younger fans who were too young to rememeber this or earlier games. Today I still feel that this is the best side scrolling Mario adventure to date.
