A WONDERFUL REMINDER OF A COUNTRY ARTIST IN THE 80'S
) I REALLY LOVED THIS ARTIST, I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF MY FATHER TRYING TO PERFORM AND SING SOME OF MARTY'S SONGS. MARTY SANG FROM HIS HART AS WELL AS PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

) Simply... MARTY ROBBINS the GREATEST unsung musical HERO of the past 200 years.
10 years older than Elvis and ten years as good! I got to be backstage at the Opry many times with Hank Snow's Rainbow Ranch Boys (Kayton Roberts-steel and
Roger Carroll-bass guitar) and witnessed 1st hand the Magnificence of Marty;
and several times in the backstage dressing rooms at the Ryman and the new OPRY
house, with Kayton and Roger and many other Opry stars...I got to sit in and play some rhythm guitar with Hank,Kayton, Roger many other different stars and
band members and on special occasion...I got to sit in and play with MARTY ROBBINS. He was always very friendly and cordial to all of us. He wasn't a
"don't talk to me or touch me" kind of guy, he was just like the rest of us,
and he treated us all like buddies and friends and his son Ronny was the same
way,just a great guy. I'm so thankful I got to be around Marty and Ronny
and of course the other OPRY stars but MARTY was genuine...HE WAS and IS a STAR!
My wife used to work in concessions at The Highland Rim Speedway in Ridgetop, Tn
as a girl in the mid to end 1960's and early 70's, and watched Marty race on Saturday Nights, driving his purple and yellow "DEVIL WOMAN", and I would be
at tha OPRY waiting for Marty to host the "late" or "last" show of the night at the OPRY. At midnight WSM's650 AM "The OPRY station" would switch to "ERNEST
TUBB'S Record shop" show, and at the Opry;onstage was a clock...Marty at midnight would take the clock hands and move them back an hour or so and keep
playing and the crowds (ALWAYS) went crazy and MARTY ROBBINS would ENTERTAIN
and SATISFY the hoards of OPRY goers,every time he was on the OPRY! Also,
he would stay and sign autographs and talk to folks until they were finished.
He gave the people what they wanted...a TRUE SUPER STAR/HERO that never let 'em
down.This man was...MARTY ROBBINS!!!
