More acoustic strangeness from these wonderfully strange animals. At times it reminds me of everything from The Residents to Danielson to Man Man to The Radiant Dregs. A must own for fans of the avant garde. 5 Stars.

Great Album! One of their best!
) Good variety, still acoustic in sound unlike much of their 2006 and 2008 albums. Great vocal harmonies, clever lyrics, awesome asymetrical percussion, and good length and value for your buck.
If you're into animal collective and haven't picked this up, do so.
If you're into the beatles, fleet foxes, or beach boys, or like folk music, or avant-garde pop, pick this up. It's good stuff.

Sung Tongs is interesting because of all the contrasting elements it implicates. The album is primitive yet complex. By layering simple sounds and taking advantage of the percussive ability of the human voice, they manage to create a sound that is completely their own. Although Sung Tongs can be repetitive, especially in the second half, just listening to it for the unusual effect is worth it.
