A Book for Pleasure
Review created: 08/19/07(updated 08/19/07)
With the full onslaught of summer creeping around the bend and sensing a void in my pleasure reading area, I decided to purchase Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country." I had read a couple other Bryson narratives and knew this wouldn't disappoint. It didn't. If you're a fan of Bryson's well-known sarcastic humor and thought-provoking excerpts on history, geography, the environment, sports, etc., then this travel piece on Australia is for you. Having studied sociology, I wished Bryson gave a more thorough account of the social life of the Australians (e.g. religion, education, birth and death), but overall, the read was very satisfying.
