In Welcome, Texas,preteen Liberty Jones & her mother have found themselves a trailer park to live in during these hard times. Another occupant of the park is Hardy Cates, who lives with his mom and siblings and works to bring in money. When Liberty's mom gives birth to her little sister, Carrington, Liberty helps shoulder the responsibility. Sometimes it was difficult for her because she longingly looked at Hardy Cates and wanted to be with him. Knowing his life would change forever if he fell in love with Liberty, Hardy takes off. Life gets harder for Liberty when her mom dies in an accident leaving her to solely care for her sister. She does all that is possible to make sure they are well fed and happy. Some years pass and Liberty has an opportunity to work for a fancy salon in Houston. She and her sister pack up and hope for a better life. Before long she meets billionaire Churchill Travis, an older businessman, who promises to take care of her and her sister. Churchill gives Liberty all the things missing in her life, until the day Hardy Cates walks back in. It has been 10 years, but her feelings still are the same for him. She will have to decide whether to give up the happiness she has found for the love she has always missed.

Super writing about a wonderful character. Very heart tugging in parts and you feel the despair and loneliness in Liberty until she goes to Houston. Hardy Cates is another matter. She has a decision to make for herself and her sister. Good read!
