Styx - Return to Paradise (DVD, 1999)

It's a Greatest Hits tour from Fall of 1996 and they sound better than ever!
I mean AWESOME!
They playd all of my favorite tunes...perfectly!
Original members Dennis De Young , Tommy Shaw , James Young and Chuck Panozzo seemed to be enjoing every minute of it.
John Panozzo , Chuck's brother and original drummer , died that summer and was replaced , but not forgotten!
It's a "must see" for anyone who likes (even a little bit) STYX.

This concert DVD is by far one of the best I've ever purchased. The song selection is Styx's greatest, the venue was perfect, it makes you feel like you are right there in a packed house. The added extras are a nice perk, back before ill feelings split the group. A must have for any Styx fan.

This is probably the best music video I own. Excellent video and sound quality. These guys sound just like they did when I was groing up. Every Styx fan should have this video.

I have many music DVD's and this has got to be one of my best!
I just seen Styx this past fall with DDY's replacement and they were very good. They definetly found a good replacement, yet it's not the same as I remember the Styx from my youth and with Dennis DeYoung.
This is an awesome DVD and I would recommend it to any Styx fan!

If you enjoy Styx this DVD is for you. I seen the concert is 96 and this DVD is identical....these musicians are great. I was amazed in 96 that they sounded so good 20 plus years from their humble beginning in the early 70's. DeYoung - Shaw and the gang had not lost anything and put on an excellent show !!

I liked the vidio because,it has original member dennis deyoung (singer) and classic tunes of the band.Sound quality and price was excellent!I bought item because of grat price and last it was a fast shipment!

An AWESOME DVD. I just saw them in concert last month and missed seeing Dennis DeYoung so I bought this DVD. Seeing them live was great but Dennis completes the group so I wanted something from before the time they kicked him out of the band. This DVD ROCKS MY WORLD.

I really liked the Dvd. I decided to buy it after going to a Styx concert. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys listening to music by Styx. I have watched it and can enjoy it over and over again.

Todd Sucherman keeps the beat to which I think John Panozzo would be proud !!
I only wish I would have seen this live !!!

About 10 years ago, a friend and I went to see a solo Tommy Shaw Concert. It was a fantastic concert. From then on I wanted to see Styx live but sadly they parted with the lead singer and I never felt it would be the same. So fastforwasrd, i'm watching some clips on youtube and I inquired about where the footage came from and the answer was the "Return to Paradise DVD". So I purchased it so I could have the Styx experiance. I Got what I wanted. Its a great show from start to finish all the hits with a stage show that is second to none. They are all about he music and it show. I would recomend this DVD to anyone who want to know what Styx is all about.

Great DVD! What a great band they are. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who is looking for a great way to enjoy a STYX concert without paying the high price of concert tickets.

Being a very long STYX Fan , early to mid 70's , traveling trough immemorial LP 's , VHS , MASTERING Recordings to CDS DVD AUDIOS Now , Shows , Solo Albums then sadness about Jonh Panozzo 's fatal attack that damned 1996 day , STYX ever meant one only thing ; Famous ever Rock balance Achievement .

Combined synergy born from DENNIS DE YOUNG's neo-classical organ/synthesizer and UGE ( bigger than human , as JY Young once said ....) vocal magnificence , through JY Young most pure Rock style voice and guitar evidence added to the Panozzo's Brothers sure play and good life looking Boys , leading to the only ever missing ingredient to ToTal energy once called famous Curulewski there after changing to a not better but larger playing final atoms ; TOMMY SHAW , and is Famous Rock sounding ability with electric , 6 or 12 stings , mandolin or witch ever was needed for the sensible ears and soul to traveling and whispering between feelings , exposure , vocals and harmonics . ToTal Synergy within balance ....

John Panozzos's travel within the STYX maybe was evitable .Maybe not .STYX Group departing around year 2000 SURELY was .

Though DENNIS may come with very impressive Philharmonic and orchestral shows compared to ROCK Pure Damned Yankees style JY , Tommy Shaw and Chuck Panozzo's tourings , STYX SYNERGY just C A N ' T Be emulate for Once ; IT WAS BORN so LIES WITHIN ....

Always lived and still living my life through music with my dear wife and famille ; TOMMY (older one of My sons ,named after TOMMY SHAW ) and is tree brothers and all famille together loving guitars and other musical sort like instrumentals-vocals for the soul , fun , then sometimes very impressive results .BORN and LIES WITHIN ....

Thinking of this famous Dream consumed in a very near future , the All Original group Final Returning to PARADISE , band taking our Boat , SAD lines on our face disappeared , water setting the floats , passed my boat on the river , so , WE won't cry out A N Y M O R E ....
