Streets of Fire (DVD, 1998)

I love this movie. I decided to buy it because I needed it in my classic DVD movie collection. It's a Great Movie!

the acquired article is of good quality and the salesperson fulfilled the order appropriately. this movie is a classic and difficult to get.

We had looked for this movie for a long time, since it was a 1998 movie- it was hard to find. We were so glad to find it on E-Bay for a great price. The movie was as good as we remembered it to be. Great movie to have in our movie archives.

i decided to buy this dvd because it brings me memories of the 80's and for me its a very good movie.

This is a old time classic with great action and music. The movie takes place in New York with a battle against the bad guy bikers. The good guy gets the girl (sort of) and wins the day with the help of the community.

While this is a 1998 DVD, I think it was originally released in 1982. ( I have a child about the same age as this movie.)The music is great,and consists of original songs by Ry Cooder and Tom Petty. I saw Willem DeFoe for the fist time in this movie and just knew he would be someone to keep an eye on. While not real heavy on in-depth characters, it engages you nonetheless.Well worth the watch! I have told friends about this movie for years.

Who would have thought that this dvd movie would have brought back memories of the early (gang type) days, good music; with a fine cast of characters. I purchased this dvd at a good price and I've enjoyed watching over and over.

You will recognize young actors who went on to become major stars.
William Dafoe, Rick Moranis, Diane Lane, Amy Madigan & Robert Townsend.
Main actor Michael Pare is and always was a acting stiff.
All in all all a very enjoyable movie with lots of music.

The DVD was a great product. Excellent and prompt shipping. I was looking for this movie all over could not find it. I was so happy to find it on Ebay. The price was real cheap. I will again buy on Ebay as well from the company who provided this movie.

This film has special meaning for me on several levels. My wife and I were operating a small town movie theater during the summer of 1984 and we showed quite a number of notable movies (1984 was a good year for movies) such as "Romancing The Stone", "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom", and a slew of others. But this was my favorite, hands-down!

Walter Hill is an interesting director: "The Long Riders", "Last Man Standing" w/ Bruce Willis, and a host of other really good films, many like this one with almost surrealistic performances. It is one you must see to believe/understand. There is a strong atmosphere of strangeness to it... almost a Twilight Zone Lite knid of feeling. For instance, all the cars are from the '40s or'50s... the cops drive around in a beat-up Studebaker, and yet the armament that Michael Pare's character uses has a modern quality, nearly a futuristic quality. Very interesting film from several perspectives. It is truly a "Rock and Roll Fable." And the music is great!

NOTE: The entire movie was filmed inside the world's largest sound stage: over a quarter-mile long and several city blocks wide! When you see it, you will find it difficult to believe it was all shot indoors. Enjoy!

so far i have only been disapointed once. But i have been delighted 99.9 percent of the time. There are some dick heads out there that will rob you blind. But to avoid them you have to be smart.

I loved the sound track, There is not much of a plot, but the classic hero girl in trouble. It is a classsic movie to me with great actors when they were beginning

I saw this film a long time ago and loved it not really knowing the actors very well at the time I saw it; like Willem DaFoe. I also bought the soundtrack after seeing the film for the first time; it is also very good. The cast is awesome Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Willem DaFoe, Rick Moranis, Amy Madigan, Bill Paxton(this was an early film for most of these unknowns at the time). I liked the way these talented actors played off each other. This film has everything from comedy to a love story to lots of action, drama and musical. It's a feel good movie in which the down-on-his-luck hero defeats the enemy and wins the girl. It's a timeless, stylish "rock and roll fable" as the movie states. I know it sound strange how could you combine all those elements and come up with something good but trust me it is a great film completely underrated by critics at the time the film was released. It's sexy, exciting and warm hearted.

This is one of my favorite classic movies. I love it because it has Michael Pare in it. Also it is full of action and big name stars. The movie is very good with a great soundtrack. It kinda has the sin city feel to it, the bad guys versus the good ones. An all star cast. And sometimes the guy doesn't get the girl. He sets her free to find her own dream, cause he loves her enough to come get her, fight for her and let her go. Wonderful MOVIE.

This movie is not your run-of-the-mill action movie. It has a good plot, super soundtrack, and lots of action. Based on the traditional boy looses girl, girl gets kidnapped, and boy saves the day scenario, the writers add just enough twists to keep things interesting.

A classic movie for someone who does not like blood and guts or sappy love stories.
