Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) stars in this movie of a Los Angeles

They rule the streets - they are the Street Kings. This movie has really made a pleasant change and one that is for the better - a good action and thriller genre movie which cannot be missed by those who like to watch such movies.

A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, who has lost his wife, finds it very difficult to navigate his life. But then, one night he is on a mission to save two Korean children who have been missing. The mission is a success and he is named a hero. But then his ex - partner comes up against him and he decides to follow him when he is killed in an armed robbery. This forces him to go against the so - called "cop" culture" and he begins to question loyalties of everyone around him.

Written by James Elleroy and Kurt Wimmer, the movie stars Keanu Reeves, Forrest Whittaker, and Hugh Laurie and is directed by David Ayer.

Its good to see Keanu Reeves back in action along with Forrest Whittaker, who is remembered for his role as Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland." This movie has brought back the nostalgic times of watching good action and thriller movies regarding "cops" and one which has action from the very beginning till the end and is able to keep you glued to the screen. Yes! It does have a lot of swearing and a lot of blood but that is a part of this movie. But never the less it is a movie that is worth while watching.

Keanu Reeves and Forrest Whittaker are at the top of their game in this intense crime drama. While somewhat predictable, the pace and the storyline keeps you hooked until the powerful ending. A good number of TV actors make for a solid, well rounded cast and Keanu takes a vacation from his good-guy, stereotyped roles to play a cop on the edge of the abyss. Hey, I even liked the hot Charger SRT he drives around in: black and meanacing...reflecting his character. If you like dark crime dramas, this one was barly noticed in the movies but is a powerful story.

I bought the movie because it has many actors in it and that's what makes it great. I love all the action. It has a different point of view then other action movies. This movie has alot of killing, verbal profanity and you don't know what might happen next, it make's you wonder what you would do if you were in that situation. I will recommend this movie to any one that like's action movies. I think it was better than Training Day.

From beginning to end, Street Kings is a superbly suspenseful driven drama. The great cast was perfectely picked. And the soundtrack adds to the depth of the movie.

Street Kings is a movie is a movie that drives you from euphoria to deception in an hour and a half. A police thriller full of action, drama and suspense. The story about Tom Ludlow, a veteran LAPD cop who finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he's been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him, is interesting but a little predictable, with some loose ends and with a lack of a closure at the end. The cast is really good, all-star actors (Reeves, Whitaker, Laurie, Chris Evans and Jay Mohr) but I feel some of the performances kinda weak. Keanu was good but with not the enough power the character needed. Forest as always excellent as the corrupt police chief, Hugh Laurie was amazing although at some moments his character reminded me to House because if his ironic way of talking. To conclude, its a movie that could offer a lot more than it gives. If you liked Training Day you will like this Movie

Here's another movie the critics dismissed that turned out to be a great movie. I was initially hesitant to go see the movie because of the negative reviews, but went to see Forrest Whittaker, Hugh Laurie and Keanu Reeves. I think most critics can't look at Reeves and not see Bill Preston Esq or Neo. However Keanu Reeves shows range in the movie and heads up the movie wonderfully.

This movie is a fast-paced LA Cop movie. It starts off great and never slows down. Money well spent at the Theater, and I'm the kind of guy who'd walk out of a movie that does not engage me. I would watch it again.

I purchased Street Kings after a trailer I watched on another movie. This movie start Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker, 2 actors I enjoy watching very much. Street Kings puts Reeves as a total good cop against Whitaker a corrupt cop as a seemingly good cop. There is a lot of drama and action and some surprises.

The plot is one that has been done before, that much is not new to me. Reeves character is one he's done before as well. I was surprised that Whitaker turned out to be not as honest as he leads a person to believe during the movie. Given the fact that Reeves is in this movie I already knew that his character would not die at the end but it did surprise me that, again at the end, there was no lead into a sequel as there is in so many of his other movies.

The movie is worth while watching if you like either Reeves or Whitaker but it is not one that you cannot stop watching. It is not the best work of either actor but it is not the worst work. For people who like the continuous drama it's a good movie but predictable. On a scale of 1 to 5 this would be slightly above a 3. I liked it but it would not be a movie I could watch over and over again.

The simple fact that Keanu Reeves acts the same way in all of his movies already lowered my expectations for Street Kings. If it wasn't for his supporting actors, I would have not watched any more of this after a few minutes.

The plot of this movie is nothing new - corrupt cops and the clueless innocent one. (Training Day?) One thing that really made me laugh was the climatic music played in between almost every scene..music that makes you think something serious was about to happen - and then nothing!

At most, rent this movie or catch it when its played on HBO or Showtime. Dont buy this DVD.

Basically what the title says. Ok. Just like any other cop movie, just a little more fun. Nothing memorable though.

Oh how I wish they never came up with movie trailers !! see I watch movies just like the next guy, my problem is that I hate watching movie trailers because they always give you more than you want, sometimes those 30 or 60 seconds are just like watching the whole movie, well not in this case.. I never even wanted to go see Street Kings simply because its preview which I saw in the "upcoming attractions" a couple of weeks earlier, simply turned me off, so I go see that movie with a friend and I was really surprised, in a good way. I never even thought of Keanu Reeves as a serious actor !
I pretty much liked everything about the movie, yeah it was a Hollywood action movie but who cares, it was a good one, casting was almost perfect, of course it's always to see my beloved Charger SRT8 :) ... Street Kings was an enjoyable experience for me, it's not the most original story, not the smartest lines, but it has some of the dark and tense feeling that "Training Day" had, which I also enjoyed a lot. I hope this was helpful...

Great movie. This is an action packed thriller. This movie will keep you interested even until the last scene. There are no boring parts to this movie. As you watch, you will not want to stop until the movie is done, and then WOW! What a movie!

Excellent performances by entire cast, which isn't an easy task; but this one has it. Never a dull moment; action just keeps on coming. Ending comes too soon, but I think the audience will make the right conclusion.

I don't think there were really any bad scenes, and i found the film overall good. It is a very intense and just good movie.

Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

Iam not a big Keaunu Reeves fan and besides the Matrix i thought his movies were junk but this one is his best by far..Forrest Whitaker was his same ole usual excellent self and the storyline had me guessing all the way to the twist at the end..This is a must see!!
